This and That for the Week...
This was featured on the Facebook page of Metigoshe Ministries:

In 2018, Don and Vickie Harris were called to helped at Bread of Life Lutheran Church in Minot, North Dakota as mission builders. In 2019, Don and Vickie came to Metigoshe Ministries as mission builders as well, and in 2020 and 2021, our friends have returned as volunteers. Vickie now serves as the Assistant Cook at the Christian Center.

Their service is essential to this ministry and we thank them with grateful hearts!

On behalf of the Executive Committee and the Church Council, I am pleased to announce the latest developments with respect to the Air Conditioning and Roofing projects we discussed in January at our Annual Meeting and at the Special Congregation Meeting held on March 20, 2022.

Last week, with Council approval, we signed contracts with Tri County Air Conditioning to begin that project shortly. We will take advantage of updated technology in replacing the failed A/C units which will conserve energy and offer higher efficiency. Once completed, the restrooms in the Narthex hallway will also be conditioned.

Later in the week, we also signed contracts with Kingdom Roofing to replace both the sloped and flat roofing surfaces. We are expecting that work to begin after the A/C project but by June 1, 2022. Our new sloped roof will be a 32gauge aluminum standing seam roof and our flat roof will feature a TPO membrane surface.

Hello Emmanuel. He is Risen Indeed!

Thank you to those who volunteered to help make cleaning and small repair updates to our church campus on March 26. We appreciate you.

  • Watch for improvements to Rowe Hall in the near future. Cleaning up and cleaning out, fresh paint and new flooring are in the works and our updated classroom wing will get a much needed facelift.
  • We are working in conjunction with the CRTF for our big Capital Improvements to our Campus you so generously approved. We know you’ll love our new and DRY roof systems on all our buildings, cool air and new storage in the Fellowship Hall.
  • We love our Church Family and our wonderful Campus that makes our ministries possible. Taking care of it is our number one priority.

Happy and safe spring. We will miss our members going back to their summer homes. See you all soon.

Lynne Ross, Property Chair

Here’s some secrets for picking tasty fruit:
  • Some fruit that is “heavy for its size,” applies to all melons, pineapples, and citrus fruits.
  • Fruits that should ‘give slightly when pressed” are kiwis, nectarines, peaches, plums, mangoes, and apricots.
  • Berries and cherries should be plumb, uncrushed, and rich in color.
  • All fruits should have a pleasant, fragrant smell.
  • Stone fruits, honeydew and cantaloupe continue to ripen after picking, but watermelon and most berries and citrus do not.

Enjoy all our summer fruits, my favs are watermelon and muskmelon, what's yours?
