Starting This Week!

4-Week Bible Study

“These Texts are ‘Extra’ - Reading Early Church Literature as Scripture”

Wednesdays May 24 & 31 and June 7 & 21

6:30PM in Sacred Grounds

Come at 6PM for Finger Food & Fellowship

Dr. Crystal Hall will lead this study again about books that didn't make it in to the Bible. While the New Testament canon of 27 books is effectively closed, early churches held hundreds of additional letters, gospels and acts sacred. This series will explore some of these extra-canonical (outside the canon) texts. While early church leaders excluded them from the New Testament, they are no less a part of the Christian tradition. Topics will include: The Acts of Paul and Thecla, The Gospel of Mary Magdalene, and The Odes of Solomon.

We will gather at 6PM for light appetizers and fellowship (bring a snack to share as you are able) and then at 6:30PM for the study. Invite a friend!

NO study on Wednesday, June 14.

Please remember to wear red on Sunday, May 28 for Pentecost!

Red symbolizes the fire of the Holy Spirit that descended that day.

"Suddenly a sound came from heaven. It was like a strong wind blowing. It filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw something that looked like fire in the shape of tongues. The flames separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:1-4
