Advent Morning of Reflection

December 2, 9:30 to 11:00 am

Deacon John Baffa will facilitate an Advent Morning of Reflection entitled “What Are You Looking For,” to help parishioners prepare for Christmas with deep spiritual anticipation. It will follow the First Friday Mass on December 2nd in the parish hall. Please register by signing up at the desk in the gathering space or by emailing [email protected] NO LATER than November 21. PLEASE go to stbrendanshallotte.org to download and print the worksheet you will need for the morning. Make a note and don’t forget to bring the worksheet with you!

All Souls Collection

All are invited to submit the names of deceased relatives and friends to be prayed for at the All Souls Masses scheduled throughout the month of November. These may be submitted anytime during the month of November. Multiple names may be written on a single envelope, and additional sheets of paper may be used.

Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary meets in the Parish Library every Monday after the 9:00 am Mass. For more information, please contact Kelly Holthaus at 443-630-9910 (cell) or Anita Vevasis 910-579-3544 (home), or simply come to a meeting. Walk-ins welcome!

Searchers of Scripture

Newcomers and Seasoned Parishioners -- all are welcome to join. We are an ongoing weekly Scripture study group. We meet in the McGivney Room of the church hall each Thursday after Mass to discuss the Sunday readings for the upcoming week. Our lively participation does not require any previous knowledge or Scripture. Just bring a Bible or a copy of Give Us This Day or the Magnificat and enjoy the community. Lectio Divina

Every Tuesday and Wednesday a group of parishioners gather to pray using a form called Divine Reading, or, in Latin, Lectio Divina. Tuesdays at 9:30 am in the Maloney Room, and Wednesdays at 6:30 pm in the Library.

Family Centered Faith Formation

Our next session of Children's Faith Formation for children and adults is Sunday, December 4 from 9:00 am to 10:15 am for children in grades Pre-K to 8th. Please arrive between 8:45 am and 9:00 am (Catechists start the session immediately at 9:00 am) and go directly to your classroom. Pre-Confirmation classes for high school students go directly to the McGivney Center (new administrative building). Classes start promptly at 9:00 am. Adults, please proceed to the church library.
