ANNUAL CANDLELIGHT REMEMBRANCE SERVICE 2022

Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 7:00pm

Venice Memorial Gardens

1950 Center Road, Venice, FL

A special evening to honor and remember our loved ones lost since December 2021. Please join us

on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 7:00 PM for our annual Candlelight

Remembrance Service.

Against a backdrop of more than 4,000 luminaries that light the cemetery, we will remember loved ones we've lost with live music, timely messages of hope and help from Tidewell Hospice and The Salvation Army and scripture. The names of those who have been entrusted to the perpetual care of Venice Memorial Gardens since December 2021 will be read aloud during our service and the names of those who have been served by Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory during the same period will be displayed on a continuously scrolling screen. The Salvation Army will benefit from a Free Will offering collected on their behalf.

Seating is provided and refreshments will be available before and after our service.

Venice Memorial Gardens will open for drive through viewing of the enchanting luminary display beginning at 6:00PM.

If you would like to volunteer your time to help us prepare for this moving tribute, please e-mail [email protected]

or call our office at 941-493-4246.

Barb's Medical Minute

FUN FACTS:

  1. The inner ear is the main organ for balance. Not your feet or legs!
  2. Your brain uses about 20% of your body’s calories and oxygen. Obviously, I need to think more often and harder to burn LOTS more calories!!
  3. Your largest internal organ? The small intestine at 21 feet long. WOW!
  4. 40% of ALL indigestion remedies sold in the world are bought by Americans. What is that REALLY telling us?
  5. Motorists who talk on a cell phone are more impaired than a drunk driver with a blood alcohol level exceeding .08! That is one scary fact.
  6. In a year, on average, a person sleeps for 122 days out of 365. Is that counting naps?

Meet Our New Kitchen Coordinator, Nancy Scott

As we welcome back our Winter members and prepare to greet a new year, we also welcome our new Kitchen Coordinator, Nancy Scott. Nancy brings a solid background of kitchen experience as she owns her own business, Nancy’s Concierge Service. As the name implies, she has a multitude of talents and expertise in many areas including a significant amount of catering in the Venice area.

Her main responsibilities at Emmanuel include creating and maintaining an organized, clean and safe kitchen. She is the point of contact for ordering all kitchen supplies and she has developed a set of procedures to be followed when using our kitchen.

Going forward, any Ministry Committee or Staff Member desiring to use our kitchen must:

  • Contact Becky or Debi to check on availability and to schedule the event
  • Contact Peter to arrange set-up and clean up
  • Contact Nancy to assure that volunteers are familiar with the procedures for the use of the kitchen

Nancy may be contacted to arrange refreshments and to work with you on decorations, etc. or you may utilize your own sources for your event. No matter how you proceed with your plans, Nancy will offer support to ensure that your event is successful.

Contract numbers are as follows:

Becky/Debi for availability and scheduling and Peter for set-up - 941-488-4942
