TLC has been given a purple candle by the Isaiah Domestic Violence Task Force which is now placed on the sanctuary altar . Lighting a purple candle during our Church service lets people in the congregation know that, as people of God we stand with the sacredness of each person’s body. The purple candle symbolizes the hope that each person who has been hurt by verbal, emotional or physical violence in an intimate relationship has a place of safety in the Body of Christ.

“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the lord – plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.” Jeremiah 29:11

Treasures of Italy
Pastor Ed is leading a once-in-ten year opportunity to see the longest running play in the world—the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany in July of 2020. This is an 11-day spiritual pilgrimage, beginning in Rome, touring throughout Italy, and concluding in Oberammergau. This rare event should be on your bucket list. It won’t happen again until 2030.
Click the link below to download a copy of the Brochure or pick one up at the information desk at TLC. More info can be found on TLC's website

Contact pastor Ed Treat, if you are interested. Tickets for Oberammergau do sell out fast so early decisions are essential.

The first of three films this October & November, "A Time for Burning" tells the true story of an all-white Lutheran Congregation in Nebraska as their pastor works to
Build a relationship with an African American congregation.
A classic touchstone that captures the awakening of the civil rights movement.

For the second year the TLC Racial Justice team is conducting three evening offerings designed to inform the those interested about systemic racism in our society. We have chosen two films related to the civil rights movement in the mid-twentieth century. The third film is the story of oppression of the Native American population in the Dakotas.
We, the Racial Justice Team of Transfiguration Lutheran Church, believe that God's creation enfolds one single humanity made up of multiple ethnicities, all members of an earthly realm. We believe that racism -- a mix of power, privilege, and prejudice -- is a violation of God's intention for humanity. We seek to stand together in raising our voice against racism and combating it in any form. We seek to foster acceptance and welcoming of all people at Transfiguration and in the broader community.
