Meeting the Need: Spotlight Series on the Maverick Food Pantry

UNMC and UNO are teaming up to promote the Maverick Food Pantry (MFP), a service available to all students. This 7-week awareness campaign will conclude with a campus collection drive and pop-up food pantry at UNMC.

Spotlight #4: Food Insecurity is Not One Size Fits All

The scale of insecurity does not exempt anyone from being able to eat or have food resources available to them. No matter how small or large your need, we want to make sure you have what you need to be successful.

Review these scenarios of a person who could and should use MFP as a resource.

  • Scenario #1: You are a third- year PA student who is also raising a dependent child. All of your expenses are covered from part-time work and savings, but it's nice to have some extra groceries for your family. Stop by and shop @ MFP.

  • Scenario #2: You are a graduate student receiving a stipend. It helps to cover your expenses, but it's tight on groceries and you can’t spend more than your allowed budget. You can always shop @ MFP to pick up extra pantry staples.

  • Scenario #3: You are a hard-working student who needs to eat. Shop @ MFP!
