Barb's Medical Minute

Here are the other foods that are really good to eat for your digestive system. By the way, your digestive system begins at your mouth and ends at your anus, and I bet you thought it started with your stomach! These foods will keep everything movin’ and groovin’ so enjoy.

Apples contain pectin in their peel, which is a fiber that nourishes good gut bacteria and may help resolve diarrhea and constipation and can even prevent some intestinal infections. I peel my apples because I can’t chew the peel, it figures that that is the good part for you!

Pineapples have fiber and an enzyme called bromelain which helps break down proteins. Don’t like.

Papayas may help alleviate constipation and bloating, but also contain an enzyme that makes it easier to digest protein. Not a fan.

Ginger helps with bloating, indigestion, gas, and nausea. I do like pumpkin pies…..?
