Food trucks on campus

This week, the medical center community again will be able to grab lunch from a food truck on campus. 

A different food truck will be on campus from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. north of the UNMC Ice Rink. The schedule for the week of Sep. 27 is as follows: 

  • Monday, Sep. 27ZEMOGS (Mexican food)
  • Tuesday, Sep. 28Burning Bridges (burgers, sandwiches, chicken)
  • Wednesday, Sep. 29 - No vendor
  • Thursday, Sep. 30ZEMOGS
  • Friday, Oct. 1 Street Eats (burgers, wraps and salads)

Food trucks (and menus) are subject to change.

How to sign up 
Captains must create a team through EZLeagues. Once they have, they should pay the registration fee at the front desk of the Center for Healthy Living and then instruct their teammates to register as members. 

Individuals without a team must sign up through EZLeagues. Once registered, an individual may choose to be added to team in need of players or form a new team with other individuals unattached to a team.  

If you don't have enough players for a full team, if you encounter any issues during registration or if you'd simply like more information about leagues at UNMC, direct questions to the campus recreation coordinator, the assistant recreation coordinator or to the Center for Healthy Living front desk (402-559-5254).

Cost per team: $30 | 6-week season, first game Oct. 11 
Pickleball (Two vs. two)

Held Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (30-minute games)

Held Thursdays from 5:15 p.m. to 9 p.m. (45-minute games)

A new site has launched to make it simpler to reset your network password. If you forget or lose your password, this site will allow you to reset your it on your own instead of calling the IT Help Desk. To use this function, you must be enrolled in Duo Multifactor Authentication. More information on how to enroll in Duo can be found here.

The password reset links are available on the UNMC Student webpage and are accessible both on and off work locations. You can also click Forgot My Password at the sign-in page of the App Store to reach the Password Reset page.

All UNMC Students, Faculty, and Staff must take action to prevent access restrictions to commonly used applications such as Firefly (SAP), NESIS (My Records, PeopleSoft), eShop, EMS Room Scheduling, Concur, Sunapsis and Bridge.

Tennis Practice, 6pm-8pm
Dewey Tennis Court

We will have weekly tennis practice at Dewey Tennis Court on Mondays through October 25th (weather permitting). Practices involve informal drills and games. All skill levels welcome!

UNL's Dish-It-Up, 12pm-1pm

Join UNL's Dish-it-Up, an interactive weekly conversation where individuals can share their personal views, learn from others and engage in civil discussions concerning current events, topics affecting students' lives, Nebraska campuses, and national/international happenings.

We frequently hear about major global disasters in the news, but have you ever wonder what happens in the aftermath to provide immediate relief to the people who were impacted? Join us for our monthly global health journal club to take a closer look at the emergency medical response to the magnitude 7.2 earthquake which hit southern Haiti on August 14, 2021.

The writing group is open to writers of all skill levels. Dr. Bud Shaw will provide a short prompt and you will have time to complete a writing on that prompt. From reflections or fiction to poetry or prose, all styles are welcome!

Climb Night with CRAG, 6:30pm-9pm
Life Time Fitness

No climbing experience necessary, just bring a good attitude! Wear comfortable/workout clothing (shorts don't always work well with harnesses). Please arrive on time. Tell the front desk you are just there for climb night and you're not a member of the gym. Be prepared to fill out a few short waivers, climb hard, and most importantly HAVE FUN. To get access to our sign up sheet, join our Engage page and we typically email a link to sign up a week before the event.

Find entry forms at the James and Karen Linder Maker Studio within the Leon S. McGoogan Health Sciences Library, who is co-sponsoring the contest. Entry forms, designed to resemble actual napkins, ask that inventors draw and describe their ideas. All novel innovations will be rendered into a three-dimensional model.
 
The Funded Awards Program is a collaborative partnership between faculty and students. Faculty lead the projects with the commitment to incorporate the e-modules into their courses and consult with students to generate creative ideas; in turn, students offer engagement options and content development skills.
