Announcements:
Online Community for UNMC Students & Alumni
Your place to connect with alumni who have been in your shoes and want to help you grow personally and professionally.

UNMC students are encouraged to sign up for Alumni Connections, a networking site like LinkedIn, but just for the UNMC community. Once you graduate, your profile transitions with you so you can maintain your connections. As a student, the site offers many benefits:

  • Get resume review, interview advice, or just talk with alumni in your interest areas.
  • Powerful filtering helps you search for alumni by education, location, identity group, and more.
  • With suggested connections and message templates, reaching out to alumni is easy.
  • Discussion boards and groups allow you to connect with students and alumni in your profession.

IT to pilot consultation program this fall

The UNMC Department of Information Technology will offer a pilot program for IT consultations for faculty, staff and students this fall. These consultations will provide an opportunity to get an expert perspective on an information technology matter, said Michael Ash, MD, vice chancellor for information and technology.

The focus of these will be to provide direction on how to approach the usage of technology within the academic enterprise. For example:
  • Direction on how to get an IT perspective on a drafted grant
  • Complex problem where you are unclear how to start or continue
  • Guidance on how to incorporate technology within a faculty members curriculum
  • Understanding what data sets are available for research and other reporting needs
  • The process to consider introducing new technology into the academic enterprise

Hello students! I am one of the fundraising chairs, along with Macy Scheffler, for the SHARING Clinics student board. We are having a golf tournament on the 24th of September. The event starts at 2:30 with registration and ends with a dinner at 6pm. Participating includes dinner, golfing, raffle prizes, and a silent auction. Teams consist of a group of 4, and it costs a team $250 total to play. All proceeds go towards continuing the great services provided by the SHARING Clinics.

If you would like to register a team please refer to the registration form for the contact information for Julie. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out!
