Congratulations to Indian Hills Social Studies and UP ISB teacher, Mr. Michael Paravati, for earning the “Gold Star Teacher Award” from the W!SE Foundation. To earn the Gold Star Award, a teacher’s class must have achieved a 93% passing rate on the W!SE Financial Literacy Certification Test during the 2021-22 school year. Mr. Paravati achieved this goal through his work with his Principles of Finance and Global Markets (Honors - UP ISB) class. This is an outstanding achievement due to his efforts and the commitment of our students. We are very grateful for the time and energy you devote to teaching. Thank you for your commitment, dedication, and support.

This week various IHHS language and culture clubs joined together to celebrate our first ever multicultural Friendsgiving.  Members of the French, Spanish, Italian, and Asian Appreciation clubs attended.  We enjoyed a potluck buffet of internationally themed tasty treats and listened to music from each culture.  We also created a poster saying "thank you" in many different languages which can be seen hanging in the World Language wing.  Everyone had a great time, and we are looking forward to holding more joint language and culture club events in the future.

Ramapo's Gold Masque presented the play "Girls In The Boat" by Alice Austen in the Ramapo Auditorium. "Girls in the Boat" was inspired by the true stories of the U.S. women’s Olympic rowing team. A group of smart, fiery young women fight discrimination and prejudice to compete in the male-dominated sport of rowing, finding an unlikely ally in a taciturn men’s coach. Together, they confront ridicule and overcome the many obstacles set before them. As our heroines break barriers of race and gender, their newly minted U.S. women’s rowing team goes on to become the most winning sports team in American history.

"Girls In The Boat" is a wonderful opportunity for this play to be produced by Gold Masque as we recognize the 50th anniversary of Title IX this year.
