RIH Summer Learning Academy

The Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District is excited to offer over 70 weeklong sessions across several content areas. These sessions are aimed to provide students with hands-on in-person learning experiences, skill review and reinforcement, and performance-based opportunities that address learning needs. Each session is held over 4 days in the assigned week, with some sessions being offered multiple times over the five weeks of the Summer Learning Academy Program. All sessions are taught by the District's highly-qualified staff and open to Ramapo Indian Hills students, only, free of charge. Sessions are also open for registered, incoming freshmen.

Please review the session descriptions and registration information on our website. All registrations need to be complete by Monday, June 12.

Indian Hills Updates

Physics students had a great field trip for “Physics Day.”  Students worked in teams exploring the worlds of math, science, and engineering while observing and riding the roller coasters and thrill rides found at Six Flags.  Students collected data using the physics toolbox app for experimental analysis using altitude and accelerometer sensors for problem solving.

Due to the air quality warnings this week, the Carnival for a Cause, hosted by Teens Need Teens, will take place Thursday, June 15 from 2:45-6:30 pm on the football field at Indian Hills High School. There will be live music, prizes, obstacle courses, inflatable games and contests, face-painting, and snacks--and a mechanical bull. That's right, an inflatable mechanical bull!  The proceeds from this exciting community event will benefit the Jed Foundation for teen mental health and suicide prevention. It's $8 for students, $10 for adults, and all rides and games are free upon entry. Donations are welcome!

Ramapo Updates

On Friday June 2nd, the RHS Gudiance department hosted a Career Guidance and Job Fair during all lunch periods for all interested students. The volunteer participants ranged from local businesses looking for students for summer employment to professional organizations available to advise students on career development and unique opportunities. Lunch was generously provided by the Shoprite of Wyckoff for all participating volunteers.

Special thanks to the Wyckoff / Midland Park Rotary for their financial support of RHS students in providing scholarship opportunities. These individuals honored included Vasiliki Bachardy, Claudia Ferenc, Laura Markarian, Sepan Matty, Ava McCann, Brooke Surratt and Damian Wolyniec. Scholarship recipients and their parents / guardians were invited to a breakfast by the Rotary Organization.
