Memory Project Nigeria 2023

Our very talented art students and staff (Thank you Mr. Quirk, Mr. Mungiello, and Ms. Gibson!) created beautiful, heartfelt portraits for children in Nigeria this past winter. The Memory Project just finished delivering these portraits, and it's our pleasure to share their joy with you in this short video.

P.S. It may be a good idea to grab a tissue for this one.

IHHS World Language National Honor Society

On Wednesday, March 15th, we had the pleasure of inducting 13 students into the World Language National Honor Societies.  We are proud to celebrate the achievements of our students as they continue to display their commitment to language.

Indian Hills welcomed the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office for a presentation as part of the Guidance Department’s career speaker series. Students in Forensics, Law and Human Rights and students interested in the field attended the event. Highlights included the role of the prosecutor’s office including crime investigation, community engagement, cyber crime and security counterterrorism, task force divisions, and the importance of volunteer service. Pathways and education opportunities to explore careers related to law enforcement and the Prosecutor’s Office were discussed.

Ramapo Update

March 14 - Happy Pi Day from the Ramapo Math Department! The department celebrated with a new bulletin board, pies and circular cookies for staff wellness and some classroom activities.

Congratulations to Ashley Gross-Green who has been awarded the Hach Professional Development Grant from the American Chemical Society to support high school chemistry teachers as they identify and pursue opportunities that advance their professional development and enhance the teaching and learning of chemistry in their classrooms.  Ashley will use the $1500 grant to attend the ChemEd  Conference at the University of Guelph in Canada this summer. This biennial conference is the largest in North America for educators involved in teaching high school and introductory chemistry.  It is an opportunity for educators to gather for five days to learn and exchange their teaching ideas in a friendly and motivating environment.
