Ramapo Indian Hills DECA recently competed at the DECA International Career Development Conference in Orlando Florida! Our chapter won the Community Service and Ethical Leadership awards. We are very proud of all the accomplishments our members have earned this year. | |
Ramapo Indian Hills DECA would like to thank Ryan LaDuca, senior at Indian Hills, for his dedication to our chapter over the past four years. Ryan has been an integral part of our success as a chapter and the voice of New Jersey DECA, serving as the Vice President of Media this year. | |
New Jersey High School Voter Registration Week began Monday, April 24. The goal of the week is to encourage 17 and 18-year-olds to register and prepare to vote. Pictured below is Grant Asgarian, an Indian Hills High School student from the Class of 2024 and member of our UP-International Studies and Business. Grant, who spearheaded the campaign, provided information and successfully encouraged students to register during lunch periods. Over 24 completed applications were submitted. | |

Thank you to US Women’s Bobsled Olympic hopeful, Lauren Brzozowski, for coming to Indian Hills to share her story and give us insight into the mindset of a champion! She spent so much time with some of our student-athletes and gave them an up-close and hands-on experience! Thank you Team Zozzy! | What a week for the Indian Hills Girls Golf Team! They broke their own IHHS school record (which they set earlier this year) for lowest 9-hole foursome score of 176 (Julia Kunz, Gaby Becker, Kate Giletta, Claire Giletta). Gaby Becker, Kate Giletta and Claire Giletta also qualified for the Bergen County Tournament! Let’s Go Braves!! | |
Congratulations to the Girls & Boys Track Teams for qualifying for the Penn Relays! The Girls 4x100 was 3rd in their heat and the Girls 4x400 ran a season best time! The Boys 4x800 Team ran a season best, which ended up being the 2nd fastest time in Bergen County and 12th fastest time in NJ this season! The Boys 4x100 Team finished 3rd in their heat and the Boys 4x400 team ran a season best time as well! All in all, it was a great weekend to be a Brave!

The Varsity Ramapo Girls Golf Team placed 3rd at the Lady Bombers Tournament as a team and set a new 9-hole team record 167. Reese Fishman placed tied for 9th with an 81 and Senior Victoria Jolakian placed 12th.
The team also competed at the Big North Conference Championship and Senior, Victoria Jolakian, placed 10th with a 78 and Freshman, Reese Fishman, placed 13th with a 79.
The team is currently 7-3 and qualified to compete at the County and the State Sectional tournaments.

Spring Track had a great three-day outing at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia last week. Highlights include:
- Boys 4x400 medaled in 3rd place and are only the second relay team in school history to do so at Penn Relays (DiVincent, Welch, Ficarra, Cindrario)
- Boys 4x100 won their heat in 43.80, which is a season best time and #2 all-time at Ramapo (record is 43.69) (McElkenny, Gonzalez, Taylor, Samarro)
- We were the only Bergen County team accepted into the girls invitational 4x800 (Chamberlin, Williams, Braver, Griffin)
- Girls 4x400 ran in less than ideal conditions and clocked a time just off our season best (Poppe, Schmidt, Mattioli, Magerko)
- Girls 4x100 ran a new season best time by almost two seconds (Silverman, Cahill, Poppe, Grusser)
On May 4, the boys and girls competed for the league championship at Demarest HS. Our Girls Team finished 2nd in the Meet and Boys Team finished 3rd. We had numerous individual league champs and season-best performances.
- 100m: Boys DePrima 1st (tied school record of 11.02), Samarro 2nd, Gonzalez 3rd; Girls Poppe 2nd, Cahill 3rd, Grusser 4th
- 200m: Gonzalez 1st, Samarro 2nd; Girls Poppe 2nd, Albino 5th
- 400m: Boys Ficarra 4th; Girls Schmidt 5th
- 800m: Boys DiVincent 1st,Welch 4th; Girls Griffin 2nd, Chamberlin 4th
- 1600m: Girls Williams 5th
- 3200m: Girls Keogh 3rd
- 100m High Hurdles: Girls Cahill 2nd, Morante 5th
- 400m Inter. Hurdles: Boys Cindrario 4th
- 4x400: Boys (Ficarra, DiVincent, Cindrario, Welch) 3rd; Girls (Poppe, Schmidt, Magerko, Mattioli) 2nd
- Pole Vault: Girls Shayna Braver 3rd
- HJ: Girls Giordano 1st, Rabah 2nd
- TJ: Girls Morante 1st, Giordano 2nd
- LJ: Boys McElkenny 2nd, Perez 5th; Girls Morante 4th, Loia 5th
- Shot Put: Girls Gilbert 1st
- Discus: Boys Fornasieri 5th: Girls Gilbert 5th
- Javelin: Boys Fierro 4th
