Drew Gibbs Field Naming Ceremony

On Friday, October 7 at 6 P.M. the Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District and the Ramapo High School Field Naming Committee hosted a field naming celebration to formally dedicate and name the football field at Ramapo High School, "Drew Gibbs Field." The evening was a tasteful yet festive and fitting tribute to Coach Gibbs. Coach had that unique quality to make everyone feel welcome and part of the family. With us on the field that evening were Drew’s lovely wife Sharon, daughters Ashley and Caroline, son Brian and his wife Maddie, brother Geoff and niece Tabitha and in laws Patty and Charlie Jones. There were terrific performances by the RHS Chorus, Marching Band and Cheerleaders. The speakers included Jackie Saracco, Denise Colaneri, Dylan Snee, Dan Graff, Principal Travis Smith and current Ramapo High School Football Captains Jack Grusser, Ethan Moran, Ben Robinson and Rocco Otazu. The highlight of the evening was RIH BOE President John Carolan presenting Brian Gibbs with a replica of the plaque that will forever sit on the Raider Walk leading to Drew Gibbs Field.  The evening was an outstanding tribute to Coach Gibbs. Please enjoy these wonderful photos to commemorate the event taken by Lisa Higbie.

TNT Welcomes Transfer Students

The Indian Hills TNT (Teens Needs Teens) Organization hosted a bagel breakfast for students who transferred into our district this year. This served as an opportunity for TNT to connect with these students and to help them to become a part of the Hills family and the greater FLOW community. The welcome breakfast also provided an opportunity for the members of TNT to talk about the many opportunities that exist for students to be active and to become a contributing part of the Braves culture.

Many thanks to Mrs. Frissora for helping the TNT students organize the event. We are so happy to welcome newcomers to our wonderful Braves Family!

Explore Interdisciplinary Connections

Mrs. Manzi and Mrs. McGavin attended a professional development workshop hosted by the NJ Department of Agriculture focusing on the NJ Fresh Farm to School Initiative.  The workshop provided great insight and lent itself to cultivating interdisciplinary lessons between the horticulture class, culinary arts courses, and other subject areas within the district.  Senator Cory Booker visited with workshop participants, at the Hawthorne Avenue Farm in Newark, to show his support of the program.
