Exchanging Thoughts

“Without strategy, execution is aimless.

Without execution, strategy is useless.” Morris Chang

September 25, 2022

Good morning Ramapo Indian Hills!

I hope the start to the school year has been positive and invigorating for all of you. Teaching and learning, athletics, clubs and activities, and back to school nights are in full swing. The air is a little more crisp at night and Fall is right around the corner.

Our commitment to developing our new Strategic Plan continues this year and your feedback will help us identify our priorities and frame the direction for our schools.

In order for us to be able to help our team build upon the incredible success of our schools, we want to hear from all of our parents and provide you with a forum to share your perspective. At this time, we want to hear from you on the following question:

What do you consider to be the highest priority area

for the district to grow in the next strategic plan?

Click here for: RIH Parent Thought Exchange

For those of you who are new to Ramapo Indian Hills, we use a software technology platform called Thought Exchange. The purpose of Thought Exchange is to leverage the technology so people can share their perspectives which will enable us to build our strategy and plan for the future.

Please select the link below or visit https://tinyurl.com/ParentThoughts-Sept2022 so you can participate in this Thought Exchange and share your feedback.

Thank you for your partnership and we look forward to hearing your insight. Together, we will continue to ensure Ramapo Indian Hills is a great place to learn, a great place to work, and a great place to live.

All my best,

Dr. Rui Dionisio

Superintendent of Schools

Bio in Action

Students in Mr. Hudak’s Biology Honors class are seen working together to understand capillary action using glass tubing they cut and polished themselves. They are creating tools, using them to collect data, and creating a physical and mathematical model to make predictions.

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Night

There was a great turnout for Ramapo High School Soccer's teacher/staff appreciation night on Tuesday, 9/20.  The team beat Northern Highlands 1-0 to highlight the evening.

Indian Hills Freshman Outreach Program

We all know and understand that the transition into high school can be a stressful experience as students make the adjustment to new academic, social, and emotional experiences. This is the reason that our Freshmen Outreach Program is designed to run from the initial Freshmen Orientation experience through the entirety of the school year. This week our 9th graders met up in small groups with their Senior Ambassadors to help our newest students acclimate to Indian Hills and to share successful strategies.

National Merit Scholarship Commended Students

Dr. Gregory Vacca is pleased to celebrate two scholastically-talented seniors who have been named as Commended Students in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program. These students demonstrate academic success and achievement in their work at Indian Hills and we are confident that they will continue to meet with success in the future. Congratulation to Christine Peng and Joseph LaMonica!

Christine and Joseph are among 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation who are recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2018 competition by taking the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Brave Home Opener

The Indian Hills Braves hosted their first home football game of the season! Our Braves were cheered on by a large section of their fans, our fantastic Cheer team, as well as the spirited members of the Marching Band and Color Guard. Our administration, faculty, and coaching staff are thankful for all of the positive energy and enthusiasm that everyone brings to our Brave events!
