Weekend Retreat

Dear Friends,

Yaffa and I are delighted to invite you to join us at our home in Santa Monica, California, for a weekend meditation retreat on March 1–2. It will run from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. You're strongly encouraged to attend both days, but if that's not possible you can come Saturday or Sunday only.

This is an opportunity to meet and practice with other members of our wonderful sangha community: there's a kind of magic to group practice. Having attended and led retreats for over 50 years, I can testify that they can be a giant step in your awakening. Other than our discussions (and any emergencies), the retreat will be held in delicious, rejuvenating silence — people often report that the silence is one of their favorite parts of the experience.

I'll lead several meditation sessions each day, introduce some new practices, and facilitate discussions in which you'll have a chance to ask questions, share experiences, and dive deeper into enlightened insight. For those who can stick around a bit longer on Sunday afternoon, we'll host an informal kirtan (meditative mantra-based music) and pizza party.

We'll also be joined once again by Liz Mensah, certified Gyrotonic trainer and former dancer with the Joffrey Ballet, who will lead us in some simple practices to help open up the sense of spaciousness within the body and to optimize our natural physical alignment — both while in meditation and while in activity.

It's assumed that all participants will already have some experience of Natural Meditation as I teach it. At minimum, you should have attended a few of our Zoom sessions or done a few of my YouTube meditations.

We're in Santa Monica's Sunset Park neighborhood, about 30 minutes from LAX. For those coming from out of town, motels and Airbnb's are located nearby. Weather permitting, we'll be outside in our lovely backyard, with its ocean view and refreshing sea breeze.

ENROLLMENT IS LIMITED. The cost is $65 for both days or $40 for one day. (If that's a hardship, email me to request a scholarship.) To register, pay via Venmo by clicking here or scanning the QR code at left. IMPORTANT: In the Venmo "What's this for?" box, please include your email and which day(s) you'll attend, as shown below.
