Message from Jessica Patchett Friday, Sept. 28, 2018
When days bring conflict, tension, and arguments to be won, it can be tempting to give in to a spirit of meanness and be guided by a mantra of "victory at any cost."
But it is clear that when people of faith engage in disagreements this way, we lose ground on mission critical fronts. God's call to Christians is to restore dignity to wounded people, stand up for the vulnerable in society, and be ambassadors for reconciliation between warring factions.
It's hard to discern some days how to fulfill a Christian call in a contentious society.
So this weekend, we'll look to the apostle Paul
and 2 Timothy 4 to offer some guidance on how to live as a person of faith when it matters most. We'll also hear stirring music by the N.C. Baroque Orchestra with our own Covenant Choir in traditional worship. Julia Watkins will preach in the Chapel.
I hope you'll join us for one of our services, whether live or online. I'll look forward to seeing you,
