A message from your Chamber
    WOW! We were blown away by the number of people who came to our February luncheon. We loved the new location and format and hope you did, too. 
     Coming up on March 16, Mayor Brandt Rydell will give us a "State of Our City" address. Thrall Country Diner will be the caterer and it will be sponsored by Citizens National Bank. 
    The meeting will begin at noon at Holiday Inn Express, 180 NW Carlos Parker Blvd, and will feature Thrall Country Diner as the caterer. The program includes lunch for $15 per person and is being sponsored by Citizens National Bank.
    Reservations must be made in advance either on the Chamber's website or by calling 512-352-6364 in order to ensure we have food for everyone. If necessary, reservations may be cancelled by 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 11.

Enjoy yourself and help others this weekend
     This weekend in Taylor features two special events that promise loads of fun while helping others in our community: Hops for Houses to benefit Habitat for Humanity and Ballgowns & Bubbly to benefit Cinderella's Closet.
    Here are details about both...

Ballgowns & Bubbly
    Grab your bffs, coworkers, friends & neighbors and play dress-up for a good cause. For a $20 donation, you can help young people across our community look great for prom and other special events. This event puts you in the spotlight as it runs 2:30-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, at Old Taylor High, 410 W. 7th room 214.
    Your donation allows you to peruse and try on gowns in the collection with the help of Cinderella's Closet's fairy godmothers. Pros will be there to help with your hair and make-up while you enjoy hors d'oeuvres and bubbling beverages. 
    Tickets are limited and available from any fairy godmother, online  HERE, and, if there are any left, at the door.

Drink beer, build homes 
    Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County is hosting a craft beer festival and fundraiser 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 29, at the Williamson County Expo Center.   Ticket sales are limited so  advance purchase is recommended. Gala is coming!

    A Great Gatsby Gala is on the horizon for Saturday, April 25, at Old Taylor High.
    The evening always features some terrific games and this year will be no different. You'll have amazing fun playing casino-type games that let you enter drawings at the end of the evening for some incredible prizes.
    It will be a fabulous evening of cocktails, dinner, live music with both dessert and silent auctions to benefit the Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce.

Chicken-fried steak dinner
     Taylor Area Business Women will serve up a  Captain Red's Chicken-fried steak dinner 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 17. Dinner will be drive-through only at the Taylor ISD  Main Street  Intermediate School campus,  3102 Main St. Tickets are available from TAB members.

Wine and antique night
   Vintique Mall is opening its doors late on the first Friday's of each month for you to shop at night and enjoy complimentary wine. The next one is 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 6. Vintique is at  2121 N. Main St.

Calm, cool and invested
  Join Carol VanderDys from Edward Jones on Thursday, March 19, at 6 p.m. to learn how to keep your investment goals on track. Blood drive
   Donate blood at the Baylor Scott & White/Rotary Club of Taylor blood drive 12:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 17. Blood donors in March will receive a free limited-edition "Let's Taco Bout Blood Donation" t-shirt. A photo ID is required. To reserve a time, call Elisabeth at 512-352-4011. Walk-ins are welcome

Preview Day at Temple College Taylor
  Temple College at Taylor will host a preview day for potential students 9 a.m. to noon Friday, March 7. Guests will have an opportunity to meet representatives  from various academic programs, student organizations, dual credit program, veterans affairs and Temple scholarships foundations. Golf tournament
    Rotary Club of Taylor is looking for sponsors and players for its annual golf tournament on Friday, April 3, at Mustang Creek Country Club. Proceeds from the event are used to fund the annual Rotary Scholars Banquet which recognizes the top 10% of students graduating from Taylor High and Legacy Early College High School in Taylor. Sponsorships range from $50 to $300 (click HERE for forms) and registration for a team of four is $300 and includes play, lunch and beverages (click HERE for the form).
