Tournament Teams
The 29ers had a successful week of basketball. After a close loss in ICBA play to Twin Valley on Wednesday, the 29ers picked up three wins over the weekend beating Mara and Perkiomen Valley in ICBA action, and Exton in the Malvern League. In ICBA play, Kai Nakayama scored his first ICBA points, Blake Sacchetta scored 8 points, and James McCollum was a powerhouse rebounder (and scored 11 points). In Malvern League play, Ian Powlick and Ryan Mangam contributed to the scoring effort while Jordan Chi, Yash Patel, Aaryan Dwiveldi, and Ishann Vereddigari crashed the boards for rebounds. We loved the team effort this weekend! Next up - a Malvern League game next weekend.
The Storm had a tough Super Bowl Sunday. It began with a 47-27 loss to a talented Thunder team in Malvern League action. The Storm used that game to work on some new offensive and defensive sets. In the afternoon, they hosted Deep Run in a battle of the first and second place teams in ICBA Division. It was a back-and-forth affair throughout. Kate Weikert hit fade-away threes at the buzzer in both the first and third quarter and paced the Storm's scoring attack. However, the team fell just short 34-33 to fall to 9-1 in ICBA action this season. The Storm have one Malvern game this coming Sunday against the Warriors to close out that season. The following weekend will see the Storm conclude the ICBA regular season with an eye on the upcoming playoffs.

Covid-19
GVBL will continue following the guidance of the state, Chester County and the schools in which we are participating. In early December we posted, and subsequently messaged, the masking policy on the www.gvco.org website. It is included on the basketball news & updates section. As an organization we heavily rely on the state, county and school district's due diligence and direction/guidance with all of our health and safety decision making. This will continue to be how we operate with regard to Covid protocols going forward.

The Barrow Family - Greg, Sandi, Jack, & Ryan
|
|
Greg & Sandi both grew up in the area. Sandi is a proud GV alum. Greg owns an insurance agency, and Sandi is most proud of being a mom.
They first heard of GVCO when a little girl came to Jack’s preschool class with her Junior Hoopsters trophy. They knew immediately they had to get the boys involved, and it was love at first sight. The GVBL program was amazing & still is impressive today. Both boys played through high school. Ryan is still playing in the High School division.
In 2010 when GVCO started a youth football program with the Junior Patriots, Sandi & Greg knew their boys, 5 & 7 at the time, would be thrilled to jump on board. It was the best seven seasons ever with GVFL. Greg coached, and Sandi was a GVFL Board Member and League Representative for four seasons.
Not only playing the games & having fun over the years, but it is the life-long friends we have all made that are truly the magic of GVCO. It was essential to pass this spirit on to younger families by supporting GVCO and the new center.
We cannot wait to see all of the happy faces, young and old, at the new GVCO center.
