Tournament Teams
The 29ers played two ICBA games over the weekend and maintained their hold on second place in the league. On Saturday, league-leading Whitemarsh was forced to play a 2-1-2 zone to slow down the 29er offense and finally pull ahead to beat the 29ers by four points. On Sunday, the 29ers played third-place Twin Valley in a back and forth game, winning 35-34. All the boys played well, but Cooper Willey gets a shoutout for his incredible toughness and the game-winning basket in Sunday's game. Next up: a rematch with Twin Valley on Wednesday and a return to Malvern League play next weekend.
The Storm eased into February with just two ICBA games this week and no Malvern contests. On Monday, they traveled up the road to square off against a scrappy Paoli team. The Storm led throughout most of the game and held off a late Paoli rally near the end to secure a 42-34 victory, led by Ava Hall’s 21 points. On Saturday, the team traveled to Audubon and after sleep walking through the first quarter, they turn up the defensive intensity and walked out with a 34-24 victory. Maddie Walsh led the team with 16 points, ten coming in the fourth quarter. Maura Wiggers hit her lone three-point attempt and grabbed 5 rebounds in the win. The Storm move to 9-0 in ICBA action. Next week they will face off against second-place Deep Run on Sunday, and also have a Malvern league game against the Thunder that day.

Covid-19
GVBL will continue following the guidance of the state, Chester County and the schools in which we are participating. In early December we posted, and subsequently messaged, the masking policy on the www.gvco.org website. It is included on the basketball news & updates section. As an organization we heavily rely on the state, county and school district's due diligence and direction/guidance with all of our health and safety decision making. This will continue to be how we operate with regard to Covid protocols going forward.

The Barrow Family - Greg, Sandi, Jack, & Ryan
|
|
Greg & Sandi both grew up in the area. Sandi is a proud GV alum. Greg owns an insurance agency, and Sandi is most proud of being a mom.
They first heard of GVCO when a little girl came to Jack’s preschool class with her Junior Hoopsters trophy. They knew immediately they had to get the boys involved, and it was love at first sight. The GVBL program was amazing & still is impressive today. Both boys played through high school. Ryan is still playing in the High School division.
In 2010 when GVCO started a youth football program with the Junior Patriots, Sandi & Greg knew their boys, 5 & 7 at the time, would be thrilled to jump on board. It was the best seven seasons ever with GVFL. Greg coached, and Sandi was a GVFL Board Member and League Representative for four seasons.
Not only playing the games & having fun over the years, but it is the life-long friends we have all made that are truly the magic of GVCO. It was essential to pass this spirit on to younger families by supporting GVCO and the new center.
We cannot wait to see all of the happy faces, young and old, at the new GVCO center.
