He spoke about balance with work, family, and life and learning how resiliency can help with anxiety and overall health. This was such a timely topic and was well received by all participants.

The Unique Entity ID is here! Here’s What You Need to Know |
Here is a snapshot of what’s new at SAM.gov as of April 4, 2022:
- The DUNS Number has been removed and the Unique Entity ID is now the identifier of record for all entities in IAE systems.
- SAM.gov generates the Unique Entity ID, which will be used in federal award systems.
- SAM.gov searches, contract data, ad hoc reports, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and extracts use the Unique Entity ID. You will no longer find the DUNS number in any SAM.gov searches, views, or extracts.

Entities now make updates to their legal business name and physical address through SAM.gov. Once you select “Create Incident'' through the update entity information workflow, you will monitor the status of your ticket in your SAM.gov Workspace or in the Federal Service Desk (FSD.gov) instead of going to Dun & Bradstreet.
- Entities registering for the first time will be assigned a Unique Entity ID as part of the registration process.

Impact of Russia Sanctions in the Asia Pacific
Recent unprecedented events in Ukraine have prompted one of the strongest sanctions reactions by the U.S. government in recent history. As new sanctions announcements by the U.S. and other countries continue to be announced, businesses, supply chains, financial systems, and large swaths of the global economy are greatly affected. But, what will be the greatest impact of these sanctions regimes on the Asia Pacific region?
Subject matter experts in sanctions compliance, Josh Shrager and Mark Nakhla of Kharon are former Treasury and State Department officials with vast experience in sanctions and illicit financial activity policies.

Business is the most trusted institution
As trust in government and media erode business remains a trusted institution for people in the U.S. and around the world, according to the 2022 Edelman Trust Barometer.
Why it matters: The survey of people in 28 countries found business is the only trusted institution. The public looks to businesses to address major social problems, because they see them as effective problem solvers.
By the numbers:
- 65% of those surveyed see business as able to successfully execute successful problem-solving plans, and 55% see them as able to coordinate across institutions. Less than half feel the same about government.
- For Americans surveyed, business is more trusted than government (49%-39%). And 74% said they trust their employer to do what is right, up two percentage points from 2021.
Our take: “While confidence has cratered in other parts of our society, Americans continue to trust and rely on business to deliver growth, find solutions, and get things done,” said Suzanne Clark, Chamber President and CEO, in February at a U.S. Chamber Foundation Path Forward event.
Bottom line: With business as the only trusted institution, the business community can play an important role in rebuilding trust through their employees and customers.
Senator Sanders is Wrong to Blame Businesses for Inflation
On Tuesday at a Senate Budget Committee hearing entitled, "Corporate Profits are Soaring as Prices Rise: Are Corporate Greed and Profiteering Fueling Inflation?", Committee Chairman Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) used the opportunity to blame rising prices on American businesses. In response, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce sent a letter to the Senate Committee on the Budget.
Be smart: Pandemic related shocks, combined with a tight labor market and loose monetary and fiscal policy have limited the supply of many goods at the same time demand increased. The result? Broad based price increases.
Bottom line: Policymakers should work on solutions that address inflation’s real root causes. Monetary policy remains the best tool for fighting it.

Register Now for the Assistive Technology Workshop
|
Keynote Speaker and “The MacGyver of Assistive Technology,” Dr. Therese Willkomm will discuss and demonstrate tool, materials, and everyday items that can be transformed into assistive technology solutions for the workplace. In addition, we will explore assistive technology solutions to increase productivity in the workplace for workers who experience physical, sensory, or cognitive limitations. Participants will receive hands-on experience with these devices and materials and will fabricate at least one device to take home.
The workshop will be held on April 26, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Somnak Ballroom at the Westin Resort Guam.
