Advent Prayer Service

All are welcome to join us for our upcoming Advent prayer services. The dates and times are below.

Advent Day of Mercy(No School Mass) 
Wednesday, December 12th 
We will have our annual Advent Day of Mercy on December 12, 2018 from 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM. There will be no all-school Mass on 12/12. Students in grades 3-8 will participate with their classrooms throughout the day. Parishioners and families are welcome to come whenever. Free childcare will be available on a space available basis in the nursery for any child who has not yet celebrated her or his first reconciliation from 9 AM - 1 PM and 4 - 7:30 PM. Come receive the great gift of God's Mercy this Advent!

Grades 3-5 Vocal Christmas Concert
Tuesday, 12/11 at 7pm 
Please have the students wear Sunday best and be in their classrooms at 6:45 pm. (Please note:Fifth grade students who have nativity roles will be wearing costumes provided by Mrs. Skinner. A separate note will be sent home regarding what they are to wear.)
Thursday Morning Rosary
Thursday, 12/13 at 7:55am 
Join our 8th grade peer ministry as they lead us in a rosary for the intentions of the OLG Community! All are welcome! Rosaries and prayer guides are provided.  
K-2 Christmas Vocal Concert  
Tuesday, 12/18 at 7pm 
Students in kindergarten, first, and second grade will present their songs of Christmas on Tuesday, December 18 at 7 p.m. in the church. Students should wear their "Sunday best" and arrive at their classroom promptly at 6:45 p.m. to line up and process to the church. They will remain in the church through the concert and then return to their classrooms for dismissal following the concert. Questions? Email Mrs. Cook.

If you have an incoming Kindergarten student, registration is due today. Registration forms can be picked up in the office. 
Report Cards 
Trimester 1 Report Cards will be coming home today. Please note that in addition to the report card, there is a Scope and Sequence and a Trimester 1 Expectations document included. The Scope and Sequence will show you what standards are covered during which trimester, and the Trimester 1 Expectations list what skills students would need to know in order to earn an "M" on their report card for a specific standard.

SNOWBUSTERS is an after school skiing and snowboarding opportunity available to our OLG students in Grades 3-8 at Hyland Hills Ski Area. Students have the option to rent equipment and take lessons or just go out & ski or board with their friends. The program runs after school on Monday & Wednesday: Jan 14th, Jan 16th, Jan 28th, Jan 30th, Feb 4th, Feb 7th, Feb 11th, Feb 13th.

Need MS Religion Service Hours? 
This Weekend:  Bake goodies for MSSC. MSSC is putting together packages for some senior members of our Parish and we need baked goodies 2" and smaller. Cookies, Bars or Candy can be left on the table by Ms. Harristhal Monday, December 10th. Students earn religion service hours for any time spent baking. See details here.

Deer Hearts Needed! 
As hunting season begins, 7 th  grade science is in need of deer hearts! Please tell the hunters in your life to save their deer hearts so the 7 th grade can experience an unforgettable lab as they learn about the structure and function of the heart. Hearts can be frozen in a Ziploc bag, and brought into Mrs. Rossow's room (503) at any time. Questions? [email protected]

You will love "The Temperament God Gave You" small group!
Moms - Make time to learn about a topic that will benefit you in your role as a wife and mother! What is a temperament and how does it affect every relationship in your life?  Join a Mothers of Young Children (birth through 5th grade) group as we seek to understand the gifts God has given in each person's temperament and use this knowledge to unlock motivation, real communication and conflict resolution with our kids, spouses and coworkers. Let us know if you are interested in joining the Temperament God Gave You group that is starting this January at OLG!  Groups will be meeting 8 sessions, every other Tuesday, January - May . The morning group will meet 9:30-11:00 am and the evening group will meet from 7:00 - 8:30 pm in the Frassati Room. Childcare available. 2019 Men's Club Gala Updates
Please save the date for this year's Gala to be held on February 9th 2019 at the newly renovated Interlachen Country Club. Tickets will go on sale January 11th.  A uction item donations can be made by contacting Cathleen Cachat before January 15th. $20 Split the Pot raffle tickets are available now at the OLG Parish Office and this year's OLG Christmas Tree Lot. As you are baking your Christmas goodies, can you bake an extra dozen or two to share with the guests at Sharing and Caring Hands or Loaves and Fishes? The guests there really enjoy the treat of choosing a desert that is just for them. If you can bring some goodies, please bring them to the parish office by noon on December 12th.
