What are developmentally appropriate emotional behaviors for your child and what is outside of typical development? How do our actions at home and at school impact our child's emotional life and long-term adjustment? This session will explore emotional life, how emotions can impede or enhance learning, and how to protect our children by helping them develop emotional resilience. Research from Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence will be discussed. The talk will take place in the new Mercy Music Loft. The talk will be given by Dr. Jules Nolan. RSVP HERE.

Raising Tech Healthy Kids Talk
Monday, December 3rd at 7pm
Presenter, Dave Eisenmann, will be hosting an event called Proactive Parenting Workshop: Raising Tech Healthy Kids. Please join us for discussion around technology and our children in the Dining Room. Here is a description of his talk:

Tablets, Smartphones, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Fortnite, YouTube and more... Technology is a big part of our kids' world! Keeping up can be challenging, but a positive and well-informed approach can have a big impact on a child's future and habits. Learn how to help kids develop a balanced and healthy use of technology. Get tips and ideas for parenting and understand the significant role you play in helping youth be responsible and safe in today's high-tech world. The presentation is very engaging and highly visual with a lot of images and multimedia. Numerous ideas and free resources are shared and time for Q & A provided.

OLG Preschool Timing Update
As mentioned in our last update, the Principal's Corner, there is a lot of momentum around an OLG preschool, and that is exciting!  That said, finding space on our campus to meet all our needs, including the preschool is challenging. Updating our campus master plan and securing appropriate zoning status for OLG's long-term needs are about to get underway, and those activities squeeze our preschool timing more than we would like. Therefore, OLG leadership has decided to delay the opening of an OLG preschool beyond fall 2019. All of the work done to date remains useful and necessary to make the OLG preschool a reality for our young families, as soon as possible.

We are grateful for your positive energy regarding an OLG preschool, and will continue to share updates, as we have them.

OLG Tree Lot - The Results Are In!
K-4 succeeded in getting enough Tree Lot volunteers to earn NUD passes for each class! Even more exciting is that you helped exceed volunteer goals, and more than 20% of all families K-4 have someone participating in the Tree Lot and raising money for the school and parish. The Men's Club can still use volunteers though, especially over the Thanksgiving weekend. If you are interested in volunteering, please click here to view time slots that work with your schedule.  If volunteering is not a possibility please consider stopping by and purchasing a Christmas tree or wreath in support of OLG.
