Pancake Breakfast-Volunteers Needed

It is time for the annual OLG Pancake Breakfast hosted by the 2nd graders and their families! It's a fun community event that celebrates the beginning of the new school year and supports marathon. Moms and Dads, we need your help! Please sign up for a volunteer time slot HERE.
Catholic HS Night
Thurs, Oct 4 from 7-8:30pm 
Attention all 8th grade families! There will be information sessions for all those interested in learning about the local Catholic High Schools. It will take place in the Middle School Classrooms. Schools in attendance will be: Benilde-St. Margaret, Holy Angels, DeLaSalle, St. Thomas Academy, Providence Academy, Holy Family, Visitation and Chesterton Academy. You will have the chance to visit with staff and students from each school and learn more about our wonderful Catholic High Schools!

OLG Preschool Survey

The Upper Room 
All 6-8th graders are invited to come grow in faith in a dynamic way on Tuesdays from 3:15-4:15 pm in the newly remodeled Frassati Room (formerly called the Youth Room) starting October 30. Middle schoolers who have come to the Upper Room in the past say "it is fun and you feel closer to God," "I have learned that Jesus loves us no matter what," and "it's Jesus-friendly fun!" ColorCycle Program Coming to OLG  
OLG is joining the Crayola Color Cycle program this year! There will be 3 purple buckets labeled "ColorCycle" around the school for unusable markers in the Art Room, Library, and Resource Room. Any type of plastic marker is fine to recycle...dry-erase and highlighters included! Go greener with us and send in your unusable markers  from home! 
Join Chess Club    
Join us in learning this National Award Winning Program for the first session of chess club meeting right after school on Thursdays in Cassidy Hall! Students of all levels are welcome! All learning is done with encouragement and fun in everything we do! Make new friends and see old ones! Optional outside of chess club tournament play information will be made available to students that are ready to compete. All in class equipment and a snack is provided. Lunch Account - PayPAMS Update 
PayPAMS for OLG School is now up and running. Families who already had an OLG account, should be able to log back in, see your child's balance and add money if you wish. New OLG families will need to create an account. Head to and choose "sign up now". Follow the prompts to set up your account. When asked to enter your child's Student ID, enter the pin number they use at school. If you or they do not yet know their pin number, they can ask the lunch staff to write it down for them on Monday. Lunch money can be deposited online or children can still bring checks to school written to ISD 273.

Deer Hearts Needed! 
As hunting season begins, 7 th grade science is in need of deer hearts! Please tell the hunters in your life to save their deer hearts so the 7 th grade can experience an unforgettable lab as they learn about the structure and function of the heart. Hearts can be frozen in a Ziploc bag, and brought into Mrs. Rossow's room (503) at any time. Questions?

Men's Club Fall Kick-Off
Monday, Sept 17th at 6:30pm
The OLG Men's Club is kicking off the 2018-2019 season on Monday, September 17th.  All men of OLG are invited and encouraged to participate in the Fall Kickoff where you'll be treated to a tailgate dinner and learn what the year ahead holds for the men of OLG in terms of spiritual, service and social endeavors.  A great opportunity to learn where you can plug in and watch some Monday Night Football!  The event starts at 6:30PM on the 17th in Cassidy Hall and is free of charge.   
Moms of Grace Playdate
Sunday, 9/16 after 9:30am Mass 
Come join us at the school playground for doughnuts, coffee and lots of fun!   Let your kids play while you relax with other families in the parish. The Moms of Grace will be on hand to welcome you and provide more information about this year's great events!
Cub Scouts (Boys & Girls) Kickoff
Tuesday, 9/18 at 6:30pm 
Beginning this Fall, boys AND girls are welcome to participate in Cub Scouts. Scouts can begin anytime in 1st through 5th grades. If you have participated in the past or are interested for the first time, please bring your 1st through 5th graders to learn more and sign up on Tuesday 9/18 at 6:30pm in Cassidy Hall. Join ACTS 29 Formation Groups!
Want to go deeper in your relationship with Jesus and his Church, but need help? Want to take that next step, or steps, in your spiritual life? If so, then Acts 29 may be perfect for you! Acts 29 is a formation process designed to help you go deeper and take that next spiritual step.  Acts 29 had three modules: Sow, Grow, and Go.  Each module lasts seven weeks, concluding with a retreat. All live sessions are held Monday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30 PM. Daytime groups are also being formed. Retreat times are TBD. Find out more HERE.

 STARS Are Out Tonight Community Party on Friday, September 14, from 5:00-7:00 PM. There will be a grill out, music, giveaways, contests, inflatables and games sponsored by AHA sports and activities. It will be on our new turf athletic field with the football game kicking off at 7:00 PM. HERE is a quick video highlighting the evening!  
Holy Family HS Youth Nights 
Holy Family Catholic High School in Victoria invites families for some FIRED UP fun at our upcoming Fire Fan Youth Nights: Tues. 9/18 - volleyball, Thur. 9/20 - soccer, and Fri., 9/21 - football.  Printable tickets can be found at and include free student and family admission, concession treat, and fun activities!

Parent Communication Network is excited to announce its first speaker of 2018/19 school year, Kristin Ballard, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist. Dr. Ballard is the founder of Ballard Clinic in Edina and will be presenting on the following topic: 
Depression in Adolescents: Practical Advice for Parents and Teachers. She will discuss the symptoms of depression in adolescents, contributing factors to the development of depression and best practices and suggestions in the prevention and treatment of depression and suicide. Read more here.
