VEAP Food Drive
Monday-Friday: October 8-12
Next week, our 3rd & 6th grade buddies will be leading a drive and collecting various food items to help stock the VEAP food shelf. This year we are having a themed food drive and asking specific grades to focus on specific items.
- Kindergarten: healthy cereal
- 1st: no or low sugar and sodium canned fruit and vegetables
- 2nd: canned tuna and chicken
- 3rd: quinoa and whole grain pasta
- 4th: rice and beans
- 5th: healthy canned soups and stew
- 6th: flour and sugar
- 7th: cooking oil
- 8th: Special diet foods: gluten free, vegetarian, nut free
Of course VEAP welcomes any and all food donations. Bring in whatever you want; bring in whatever you... can. Let's try to meet their needs! Let's dig deep for VEAP!

Mass of the Holy Spirit (Grades 4-8)
Wednesday, October 10th from 9am-2pm
All OLG 4th-8th graders are attending the Mass of the Holy Spirit organized by the Catholic School Center of Excellence (CSCOE) at US Bank Stadium. Watch the promo video from the last event,

CSCOE has requested that each student donate a new or gently used winter coat or other piece of warm winter clothing at the event through
Coats for Kids. You can bring donations to your classroom starting Monday, 10/8.
HERE is the itinerary for the event. We will be having the boxed lunches provided (ingredients

hese are not guaranteed to be nut free. If your child has an allergy and you are concerned, please send a lunch with them.

Third & Fourth Grade Choir Club
Third and fourth grade singers are invited to join Choir Club. This is a great way to have fun singing together, develop musicianship skills, and serve the school community. Rehearsals are held during recess (4th graders on Wednesdays and 3rd grade on Thursdays). We will sing for the Veterans Day program, Christmas concert and Spring concert. EHS Tour for 8th Grade Students

If you are an 8th grade family who would like to learn more about Edina High School, please join us for this tour opportunity! Students and parents will have to check in the main office and we will proceed to the Community Room across from main office. We will start with a general information session for both parents and students and then proceed to break out for school tours. Please have your families come and park in the north parking lot of the high school. Try to have them here before 8:00 am and come in Door 5. grade science is in need of deer hearts! Please tell the hunters in your life to save their deer hearts so the 7
th
grade can experience an unforgettable lab as they learn about the structure and function of the heart. Hearts can be frozen in a Ziploc bag, and brought into Mrs. Rossow's room (503) at any time. Questions? carolinerossow@olgschool.net

Water Bottles
Each OLG student was given a water bottle last week as we launched our "We lead with Yes." tagline. The water bottles are BPA Free, but not dishwasher safe. There was a note inside each water bottle that heat could shrink it. If you missed the video on PIE night launching our "We lead with Yes." campaign, don't worry! We will blast the final cut of the video soon.

Moms of Grace Meeting
Wednesday, Oct 10th at 10am
We invite everyone to join Moms of Grace at our first meeting on October 10th at 10am in the Church Dining Room. We look forward to continuing our mission of connecting with each other and our wonderful parish. This year, our meetings will focus on our theme of "Incorporating faith into our homes." We have a variety of events planned, including monthly meetings where we will connect on the 2nd Wednesday following school Mass, social events in the evening celebrating the holiday season and the end of the school year, service projects that involve your children and finally, a marriage event in the spring. No matter what, we'll come together and give thanks to God for being Mothers, the hardest yet most gratifying job in the world. In our first meeting, we'll welcome and hear from Mary Hodgdon, the Director of Marriage and Family at OLG. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you there! Please note childcare is available.
