Week of March 4 th  – 8 th

Soccer:    We can’t wait any longer, the rains are messing with our plans. The lower school soccer intramural program will start this Monday, March 4 th  with the opening game being Team A (Ms. McLaughlin's team) taking on Team C (Mr. Rothenberg's squad) squaring off in a 2:45 starting time on Armstrong’s field. Barring rain later in the week, Team B (Ms. Johnson's team) goes at it versus Team A (Ms. McLaughlin's squad) Friday. Same starting time…

At the middle school level, their next contest is also on Monday (2:45 at Cubberly versus GISSV). They will play Tuesday, at Cubberly versus Hausner 2:45; and then Wednesday here at Armstrong vs. Waldorf (2:45), their first home game (barring rain). Real busy week for the older soccer unit.

Basketball:  Our middle school 7 th  grade girls are playing at Sea Crest (Tuesday March 5 th ; 4PM) with the 8 th  graders taking on Seacrest in the later (5PM) game same site.
The 8 th  grade also plays at Alto, Thursday March 7 th  at 3:30pm.

Wrestling:  It’s time to hit the mats. The next practice for those interested in this sport is Thursday, March 7 th , 3-5 PM in the multi. Students should bring the a change of clothes for practice (shorts/sweats, t-shirt). Team is open to any student from 4 th  grade up. We will try to hold practice every Tuesday and Thursday after this through the whole month of March. When the season starts (April) we will drop one practice day since matches will take up one afternoon (not sure which yet; coaches meeting coming up soon).

Other:  Our league holds one day tournaments in bowling, boys volleyball and swimming. Interested students can pick up information in the PE department .

  • We are allowing the boys to form their own team of seven players (they practice at recess).
  • For swimming, no practices are necessary, just experience.
  • Bowling, we may hit the local alley a couple times before the tournament date gets close. Check here next week for more information of tourney dates/ time/ place.
