Stewardship/HOLY CROSS DAY

BEGINS AT 11:45!!

A message from Mother Susan
It is with great sadness that I tell you that I am leaving Holy Cross as Youth Minister.  I have accepted a call to serve as Rector of St. George's Episcopal Church in Anderson, SC beginning October 1.
It is a full time position and in the town where I live!  I will miss Holy Cross and especially your youth and the amazing adults who volunteer their time to serve as Youth Leaders.  Fr Mike and I will be working with the Youth Leaders to continue Wednesday night Youth Group during the transition time as you search for a new Youth Minister.

My last Wednesday will be September 26.  Please keep me in your prayers as I leave both St. Andrew's/Hartwell and Holy Cross, places that I know and love to begin a new adventure in ministry with St. George's.

My hope and plan is to stay connected with our shared ministry in Quito at Cristo Liberador Episcopal Mission and assist Fr. Mike and Holy Cross with a team in 2020.  Thank you for your love and support!

Faith in Action and Race and Reconciliation Presents:
Please plan to attend this upcoming discussion!  As some of you may know, our Diocese of Upper SC has a Race and Reconciliation committee that was formed 2 years ago.  Holy Cross also has a Faith in Action committee.  The R&R committee is made up of a very diverse group of men, women, black, white, clergy and lay people including Bishop Waldo.  The committee is dedicated to further conversations and understanding with our brothers and sisters in Christ regarding the improvement of race relations.  The committee members are not saying they have the answers but they are passionate and compassionate in this work to assist the people in our Episcopal churches of our Diocese to open up discussions.  All voices will be lovingly heard. We encourage the members of the youth group to attend also.
The discussion session is scheduled for Sat., Sept. 29 from 10-2
A simple lunch will be provided.  Please sign up on the sheet in the Narthex.
