Downtown Monterey Road Traffic Calming Update,
Working Group Recruitment, & Opportunities to Engage
On May 19, 2021, the City Council approved the Downtown Monterey Road Traffic Calming and Beautification design project and directed staff to design a Lane Reduction Project that improves accessibility, increases safety, and creates additional space for community members and businesses. The design recommendations that will be brought to the City Council on November 3, 2021, will include feedback from the community gained through a variety of community workshops and recommendations from the working group.
As part of the review process, the City is recruiting a working group of business and community members to participate in three virtual meetings and provide feedback to staff on the project design options. If you are interested in participating in the working group, please e-mail Hilary.Holeman@morganhill.ca.gov by Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

Review Parklet/Beautification Project Design Options.
- Working Group Meeting #3, Friday, October 8th, 9 to 11 a.m.

Virtual Town Hall: Redistricting In Morgan Hill
5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
The City is looking forward to discussing the City Council redistricting process. What is redistricting, and why am I hearing so much about it? Redistricting is drawing new boundaries that determine which voters are represented by each electoral district. It is such a hot topic right now because every 10 years - after the federal government publishes updated Census information - political districts at local, state, and national levels are redrawn so that the districts correctly reflect the population as it evolves over time.
