Routine Tree Trimming on Monterey Road
Work Starts Evening of Sunday, March 27

The trees throughout Monterey Road are due for routine tree trimming this year, including all of the trees in the Downtown area between Main Avenue and Dunne Avenue.

A Plus Tree Company is working at night to minimize impact. The work is scheduled between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. and will take four to five nights to complete.

Depot Church Realignment Project
Works Starts Week of March 28 and Continues Through August

The Depot Church Realignment Project will realign Depot Street with Church Street through the Community and Cultural Center parking lot.

Additional information is available on the project's webpage that includes a map and schedule. The City also distributes a weekly email, The Scoop, that details all significant maintenance and construction updates.
Morgan Hill Police Department Cadet Ambassadors
Cadet Ambassador Program Returns Thursday, March 31

The Cadet Ambassador Program is a police internship for those aspiring to have a career in law enforcement or public service. The program aims to enhance our community policing and community engagement efforts with our Downtown businesses, guests, and residents.

The Cadet Ambassadors will generally be Downtown Thursdays through Saturdays in the evening.
Volunteers Needed
Recreation Division Swim Meet
April 1, 2, and 3 at the Aquatics Center, Morgan Hill

The Aquatics Center is scheduled to host a Pacific Masters Swim Meet on April 1, 2, and 3. We are looking for volunteers through the month of March to work outside to assist with the meet.

If you are interested in volunteering, please apply using our volunteer link. Once that is completed, applicants will be emailed a link to select time slots.

Featuring the Housing Element
as Part of the General Plan

The City of Morgan Hill is looking forward to meeting you in person! Starting in April through October on the second Saturday of the month, we will host a booth at Sidewalk Saturdays and/or the Morgan Hill Farmers' Market where we'll feature topic-specific information each month, such as budget, transportation, housing, water resources, recreation programs, and more. Each month will feature a different topic and will be shared widely before each date.

The agenda includes a citizens' initiative regarding the Monterey Road lane reduction. City council will hear and act on the initiative amending the General Plan to require voter approval of any future Monterey Road lane reduction. The initiative intends to amend the City of Morgan Hill 2035 General Plan’s Transportation Element Policy TR1.5. Proponents have gathered enough signatures to place the measure on the November 2022 ballot. The City Council can take one of two actions at this meeting: (1) elect to place the initiative on the November ballot, or (2) elect to adopt the initiative outright.

Public comment may be provided in the following ways:
  • Join the virtual City Council meeting via the link above; when public comment is opened, raise your virtual hand and be called upon to speak for up to 3 minutes;
  • Join the virtual meeting by calling the number above, dial *9 to raise your hand, and be called upon to speak for up to 3 minutes;
