Each year during the week of May 15th, National Police Week recognizes law enforcement officers’ contributions throughout the nation. Every day they put on their uniforms, not knowing what the day holds. They have answered a call to public service that is demanding.

May 15-21, National Public Works Week

The City of Morgan Hill is proud to celebrate the unsung heroes who are always present and ready to serve! Join us on Thursday, May 19, 10 a.m.-noon at Community Park, 171 W. Edmundson Ave.

What are some of things the team manages?
  • Drinking Water
  • Emergency Response
  • Engineering and Capital Projects
  • Landscapes and Tree Trimming
  • Stormwater and Drainage
  • Streets, Roads, and Traffic Lights
  • Wastewater

They will enjoy showing you some of the machinery used in their line of work, as well as discussing with you how, why, and where pieces of machinery are used. The teammates from our Engineering Division will also be on hand to answer questions on some of the City's capital projects.
Youth Action Council (YAC) Presents: Hygiene Products Donation Drive
Continuing Week of May 16

The City of Morgan Hill's YAC requests donations be delivered Monday through Friday, May 20, to the Centennial Recreation Center, 171 Edmundson Ave.

YAC requests: shampoo, toothpaste and brushes, body wash, and deodorant. All donations go to Cecelia's Closet, part of the Edward Boss Prado Foundation.

Morgan Hill Council Chamber

Council Chamber is located in the Civic Plaza: 17555 Peak Avenue, Morgan Hill, 95037.

Appointments for this location are open for scheduling 7 days before the testing date. Once all appointments are filled, this location will no longer appear as an option.
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training Course Series: May 17 - June 11

The CERT training is a 20-hour, all hazard training program offered by Morgan Hill's Office of Emergency Services. Classes are a combination of online training and a one-day, hands-on skills training sessions.

Registration is required by the first class session and you will receive an email confirmation to attend. This class is open to anyone over the age of 18. Community service hours are available to students who attend with a parent/guardian. Contact Emergency Services Coordinator Jennifer Ponce for questions.

Planning Commission Recruitment

The City of Morgan Hill is seeking applications from residents interested in serving on the Planning Commission. We are recruiting to fill one unexpired term on this Commission with a term ending June 1, 2025.

Application forms will be accepted in the City Clerk’s Office until Wednesday, June 8, 2022, 5:00 p.m. or until filled. Interviews before the City Council are tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 6:00 p.m.

Affordable Housing Month

In conjunction with Affordable Housing Month, the City of Morgan Hill's Housing Division and its below market rate homebuyer program administrator, HouseKeys, hosted a Townhall to cover information on local housing programs and how to access them, plus tips for searching for housing in today’s market. The City's YouTube channel includes all Townhall recordings and has the most recent Housing Townhall video from May 12 available.

Throughout the month, Silicon Valley at Home (SV@Home) gathers our region’s housing partners to host a variety of virtual workshops, webinars, and creative community engagement opportunities to educate, activate, and engage advocates and the community around housing challenges and solutions we can pursue together.

Affordable Connectivity Program

The Federal Communications Commission of the U.S. Government announced that it has secured commitments from 20 Internet Service Providers to offer at least one high speed internet plan with a minimum of 100 MB download for no more than $30 a month, and a guarantee of no additional fees or data caps, to an estimated 48 million households who qualify for it across the country.
