Biomechanical Considerations
Dr Shapiro is an ACPM board member, clinical podiatrist, teacher, residency program director, and writer who practices in the Pomona, California area as an associate professor at the Western University of Health Sciences College of Podiatric Medicine.
He graduated with a BA in English and BS in microbiology from Northern Arizona University in 1998, then went on to podiatric undergraduate training at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. He completed a 3-year podiatric medicine and surgery residency at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
While in practice for the past 16 years, he has been an online editor of the Practice Perfect blog where he advocates for student and resident education and an improved understanding of lower extremity biomechanics.
