AGRONOMY WEEKLY NEWS

Corn & Soybeans

Today/Yesterday's rain has provided a bit of a break for farmers from the wide-open fall we have enjoyed. Soybean harvest for all intents and purposes is wrapped up, with corn harvest continuing to chug along.

Lots of plot data has been coming in and the sales team has been working on reviewing these and looking at performance of newer hybrids and varieties. This data and more will be reviewed at the Growing Meeting including fungicide response on corn. Keep an eye on our website for the dates for this event, and our other winter events to be posted soon!

Our early sign-up program for IPs is now full. IP Premiums going forward for Brutons, Inwoods and S12-J7s are $4.00/bu Premium for Fall delivery, or $4.55/bu Premium for winter delivery.

Wheat

The wheat crop is looking fantastic and tillering out well. Wheat acres are up across the area, Wanstead is planning for a busy spring nitrogen/herbicide application season on the wheat. Talk with your agronomist about planning your spring herbicide, fertilizer and plant growth regulator applications. With the exceptionally warm fall we experienced plant growth regulators to reduce the risk of lodging will be looked at heavily in the spring as the crop is tillering out well this fall with earlier planting dates and warmer weather.

Jill's Agronomy Tip of the Week, "Seed pricing is now out and with majority of plot data received, now is the time to start reaching out to your salesperson to get it on the books. Early Order/Early Pay deadline is December 15th."
