AGRONOMY WEEKLY NEWS

Corn & Soybeans

Both corn and bean fungicide applications have been happening in the area. With the weather being extremely wet and humid we are urging our customers to strongly consider using a fungicide to combat diseases. Especially if you have a history of disease in the field. Fungicides are more effective when applied preventatively. Recommended timing for soybean fungicide application is R2 (Full flower) to R3 (Early-Mid Pod). Recommended timing for corn fungicide application is silking to help control both leaf diseases and ear rots, the window of application for silks is usually around 7-10 days depending on weather and hybrid. Once silks have dried up we are past the window. Keep in touch with your agronomist about fungicide timing and getting on our custom application list.

Wheat

After wheat is the perfect time to consider soil sampling which will allow you to spend your fertilizer money in the right places to maximize on your future crop potential. Our airflows are now on the move spreading fertilizer on wheat ground, reach out to your agronomist to get on the custom application list.

Additionally, if you are thinking about a cover crop, make sure to call your agronomist to book product or talk planning! If you don't put something green into your field, Mother Nature will!
