Harvest
Yesterday’s frost set in overnight on Monday. This allowed anyone with corn still out to get on the fields early, with no sign of snow for the day. A good chunk of corn was peeled off, and the trucks were busy hauling the corn away from the field. The end is in sight for most. Today’s snow will put anything left out there on hold. Overall most are extremely happy with the corn yields this year, with an added bonus of moisture’s below 20% in most cases. Soybean yields have varied, and definitely have people thinking about any changes they can make for this coming year.
Seed
The first early order and early pay deadline is today. Do not hesitate to talk to your agronomist about seed throughout December though, as there will be some discounts into early January. Plot data is available at both branches, combining both NK and Pride Seeds data
Plans
Planning is going to be critical looking into the 2022 season. Although we know plans can change, it is a good idea to know what you’re planning for ahead of the spring rush. In doing this, you’ll know your needs for fertilizer and chemical.
What are our agronomists up to?
Our agronomists are busy with seed sales. Crop plans are being discussed and developed for producers. If you have signed up for our myFS Solution CentreTM (at no charge) you can review your plans online. Give your agronomist a call and they will be happy to assist you with your needs.
