AGRONOMY WEEKLY NEWS
Wheat
We have had a good run getting N+S on wheat this past week, although some fields were in better shape to travel on than others. The rain continues to present challenges.

Wheat herbicide is right around the corner. If you are worried about disease, include a fungicide in your plan.

In certain areas last year we experienced very strong winds that knocked down a lot of wheat. There was a big difference in standability to the fields that had a growth regulator applied. You can include the growth regulator with your herbicide.
Corn
It is still early May; no need to change from corn to soybeans at this time. Be aware of your corn heat units. It's probably too early to switch to a lower heat unit, but be prepared if to do so if planting cannot occur in the next couple of weeks.

Corn shows a good yield response to Boron. If you don't have any in your plans, talk to your Wanstead agronomist about the benefits of Boron and how Boron can be added into your plans.
Soybeans
We are continuing to treat soybeans when the weather permits.

Weeds are coming. Have a plan for the tough weeds that you historically have issues with. Our agronomists can help you put together a plan for your specific needs.
Seed
Our warehouse’s are full! Seed treating & shipments are fully underway! If you are ready to take your corn or soybean seed, let your local branch know!
Custom Application and Fertilizer Delivery
As always, communication is best for any deliveries or custom application. Giving the office or agronomist a heads up for your intentions make us more efficient for our customers.
What are our agronomists up to?
Our agronomists are busy with seed sales, fertilizer sales and crop plans. Crop plans are being discussed and finalized for producers.
