"Be the first to arrive at church for services and the last to leave, especially for the Divine Liturgy."
St. Symeon the Studite +1021

Words to live by
St. Mark the Ascetic:
- Do not seek perfection (of the Law) in human virtues, because there is no perfection in them: its perfection is secreted in Christ's cross.
- Real prayer is acquired by pure conscience.

Free Adult Education Classes:
Study of the Holy Scriptures
St Nicholas Cathedral offers adult education classes on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month. Topics that will be explored in the class include the Psalms, systematic study of the Holy Scriptures (both Old and New Testaments), Christian hymnography, the services of the Church, and more! This class is primarily intended for Orthodox Christians who are interested in deepening their understanding of the faith, and non-Orthodox who wish to learn more about Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Church. We invite you to join us for worship at the Divine Liturgy, grab a cup of coffee and a bite to eat downstairs, and then head to the Annex for discussion and questions. Class begins at 11:15 (11:45 on days with bilingual services) and typically lasts between 45-60 minutes. Please join us as we work to grow together in our faith in Jesus Christ

New Icon: Triumph of Orthodoxy
A beautiful new Icon of the Triumph of Orthodoxy was venerated last Sunday. The Icon by Ivan Rymyantsev of the St. Tikhon's Monastery was sponsored by Lisa Stolaruk in the memory of her parents, John and Lena Stolaruk. Thanks be to God! We appreciate Lisa's support!
The Guild has one remaining Icon of the Laudation of the Virgin (Saturday of the Akathist) to fund. The Icon is by Nadine Kastelan Thola and will be delivered by the end of the year. With a help of anonymous donation in the amount of $500, we have $1,000 to fund. Please consider donating as little as $25.00 towards this Icon. All payments should be made payable to the "Dormition Guild." We are thankful to all sponsors of the beautiful icons!
