Celebrate One Great Hour of Sharing
April 4, 2021

One Great Hour of Sharing is the largest way Presbyterians come together to share God’s love with our neighbors in need around the world.

Thank you for your gifts to this Special Offering!

Because of you, we are addressing the root causes of hunger in places like the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and others where food security is a serious need.

Because of you, our partners are building infrastructure to address critical water shortages in a Bolivian community.

Because of you, black women and girls are receiving trauma healing and housing assistance in the Brooklyn area.

Because of you, millions of dollars have been granted to congregations, mid councils, and partner organizations as we continue to face the COVID-19 pandemic together.

This is all made possible BECAUSE OF YOU!
WE CAN MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE when ALL participate.
Using the same passage Two and Five Cents-a-Meal has used since 1982…
“Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of my brothers, you have done it unto me.” – Matthew 25:40

Please consider a gift to Ten Cents-a-Meal every first Sunday. To learn more about this program click here.

We are still here and bringing you the Word of God!!! Our worship service is streamed live every Sunday @ 11 am from FUPC's sanctuary via our church's website (www.fupcc.org), Facebook page (@firstunitedcharlotte), and Zoom. We also continue to partner with First Pres every 4th Sunday via First Presbyterian Church's TV ministry, channel 64- WAXN.

Black History Moment brought to us by Deacon Helen Hairston:
With March being Women's History Month it's my honor and privilege to spotlight my mother, Dannell Allison Hill, as one of the first female Elders of the church, along with Mrs. Louise Y. Harris, who composed "Take Time Christian Women", as well as our Scout Leaders: Lucille Ray, Rosebud Junious, Juanita Randall, Lula Moore, Juanita Herron. And so many, many other women in the church for encouraging our young girls to be their best. During those times I didn't realize it but TODAY I applaud them as Strong Black Women who gave us encouragement, love, and support to go forth and be great!

Black Males Needed at Meharry Medical College
This message is from Dr. Glenda Glover, President of Tennessee State University, and her Community Affiars Liaison, Mrs. Barbara Murrell. This is a program between TSU and Meharry Medical College where students would go to TSU for 3 years, then on to Meharry and finish to become an MD or DDS in 7 years, instead of the traditional 8 years. The program has enough female students already signed up, but no Black males. If you know any Black males, who are high school seniors, want to become a medical doctor, scored a 28 on the ACT, and a 3.5 GPA, there is a possible free ride for them at Tennessee State University. Please send the prospective candidates' information to gussie.fuller@gmail.com. Their information will then be forwarded to President Glover and Mrs. Barbara Murrell. All students' information needs to be submitted ASAP!
