Weekly Message From Our Pastor
WWJU - What Would Jesus Undo: Hollow Worship
"KIDS, GET OFF THAT STAGE!" Demanded, the mom-in-charge to the young invaders taking control of the platform in LW's 411 Building.
"But we're the worship team!" Replied one of the little ones, making as much noise as they could with the drums, an unplugged (silent) keyboard, and makeshift microphones.
"And I'm your mother, and your mother says get off that stage!"
At the time, the whole scene made me laugh. A half-dozen half-pints, thinking they were worshipping God. Now I wonder: were they, worshiping?
Worship is a lot like politics. The very mention of it in a crowd is likely to spark some lively conversation; a testimony to our strong opinions. We know what we like and what we don't, what's good and what isn't. Some of us would even go so far as to say we know what kind of worship God likes and what God doesn't.
Question is, what kind of worship does God like? When God listens in to our worship, what does God see & hear that puts a smile on God's face?
Sunday we move in to my favorite week of our WWJU series, with this installment, "Hollow Worship."

Living for Jesus!

P.S. This Sunday I encourage you to stick around a few minutes after worship to meet Joyce Getchell, who will be telling us about this January's Mission Trip to Haiti!
Comet Care Packs - July Mission
We are seeking your financial help to provide hungry kids in the Cameron School District with supplemental food.  Just  $85  can provide a child with extra food to take home in their backpacks on weekends during the school year.   Checks can be made out to Living Water Church and add Comet Care Packs in the memo line. Contact Debbie Odden for more information on this community-wide effort. ( oddengirl@gmail.com )
July Message Series: WWJU
There's a good chance many have heard the acronym, WWJD. It's often found on bracelets or t-shirts; an abbreviated reminder to consider in difficult situations, asking the question, "What would Jesus do?" This month we begin a new message series that takes this popular saying and moves it in a slightly different direction, instead asking, "What Would Jesus Undo?" What are the things that break Jesus' heart, bother him, create a real sense of dissatisfaction? We hope you can join us as we launch this new series on Sunday, July 15.
VBS - Thank You
For four nights, Living Water hosted over 80 kids each evening for our 2018 VBS: AMPED! Thank you to everyone who volunteered, attended, cooked, cleaned, laughed, shared, etc! It was a wonderful experience for all and we are looking forward to next year already! Thank you!!  Also, check out all of our pictures on the Living Water Facebook page!
