Stewardship 2019: Stepping Up to Step Forward Together
This week you will find a tremendous opportunity in your mail box: St. John's "Help Us Help Others" pledge materials. Please review the brochure, and prayerfully consider a Step Up Pledge to support all the great things happening at St. John's. Please note pledge cards are due October 22, so don't delay. Pledge cards can be returned to the church office via mail or you can put them in Karen Mayer's mailbox in the church office or drop in the lockbox in the reception area. You can also fill out a pledge card online.
Thank you, Tracey Gillespie and Bob Nye, Stewardship Chairs
Tracey Gillespie, Vestry Member and Stewardship Co-Chair, shares the story of a lighthouse keeper's commitment as a lesson in stewardship.
You have given the Fall Loaves & Fishes Food Drive a most promising beginning as we have seen a number of groups and ministries stepping up to adopt a barrel … the Vestry, the SJE Staff, the Kitchen Crew, the Choirs, the Bell Choir, the Preschool, the Daughters of the King, and the Evening Prayer & Rosary Group. Please join your fellow parishioners and adopt your own barrel or place your items in one of the general parish barrels located throughout the building. Thank you for your support! With your help, SJE can once agaon demonstrate our "caring spirit" in a truly exceptional way!
A Hurricane Response Steering Committee has formed and several parishioners are already involved. Interested in joining? There's plenty of room. Our next meeting will be Sunday Oct. 21, 10:15am-11:00am, Rm 204/05. We will be designing, organizing, and implementing St. John's response to the needs of those deeply by the recent storms.
