JUNE WELLNESS DAY (FOR THE MIND)

TUESDAY, JUNE 23rd at 12 NOON

AT THE SENIOR RESOURCE CENTER

TOPIC: 50's and 60's Suburban Culture

and Classic TV;

The Values We Grew Up With

GIVEN BY: JEFF KAMPF

Just "Leave it to Beaver" to bring back wonderful memories! Despite the passing of decades, classic television can still entertain even today’s generation of viewers.

For most of us baby boomers, suburban life was much simpler, and classic television programs are now relics of the good old times, when "Father Knew Best"; and it’s only natural that we cannot help feeling nostalgic about them.

When times were indeed hard, there were TV dramas, sitcoms, game shows and variety shows that provided us momentary relief and distraction from life’s realities.

This lecture revisits those "Pleasantville" goodies, and the way we lived our lives. But was it real or fantasy? Isn't a horse a horse of course? Not "Mr. Ed"!

To register for this fun filled program please email Lisa at Happenings@srcnj.org
