Things happen when churches pray!
Join us for the 24-hour prayer chain,
Friday-Saturday Oct. 4-5th
It’s easy – just select a half-hour slot, any time from noon Friday (Oct. 4th) through noon Saturday (Oct. 5th), sign-up with the link below, then pray at home (or wherever you are) during that time. Our prayer focus this time is two-fold;
1) Pray for our fall ministries: Sunday services, Bible Hour, Care groups, discipleship Bible studies, AWANA and Club 119, children’s church, nursery, Food pantry, our partners serving here and around the world. Pray for the pastors and elders and committees (Stewardship, Christian Education, Deacon/Deaconess, Partnership, Welcome and Outreach, Worship).
2) Pray for our nation and the upcoming elections. We’re commanded to pray for our leaders and authorities (1st Tim. 2:1-4), this is even more important than voting. Pray for God’s leading, protection, and grace in our community, state, and nation.
How to spend 30 minutes in prayer? The simple “A.C.T.S.” formula is a good plan. Start with adoration (A) by giving praise to God. Perhaps read a Psalm as you begin, then thank God for who He is and what He’s done. Then confess (C) any known sins, appealing to God’s mercy and grace (Hebrews 4:14-16). Next, give God thanks (T) for the blessings, provisions, care, and answers to prayer He has provided for each of us. Then comes supplications (S) – specific requests for needs, both national and personal.
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. 1st John 5:14-15
