Wednesday Church Night
Wednesday Church Night dinner is being served at 5:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Suggested donation $3.00, free for kindergarten or younger, $10.00 for a family of four or more.
Preschool/Parent Ministry, Children's Ministry (K-5th), Youth Ministry (6th-12th) and Adult Education, begins at 6:00 PM.

Security Update at St. Luke’s
Recently a small task force met with a Homeland Security/
Bloomington police officer to evaluate church security and
make recommendations. The good news, we are doing a
fine job. However, there were a few recommendations.
The following recommendation will be implemented this month.
The focus is on security for our Sunday morning worship.
During both services all external doors will be locked. Additional
doors may be locked between services as we continue to assess
our security needs. Access to the church Sunday mornings will
always be available through the Main Entrance (Door C).
The usher team will be responsible to open and close doors
at recommended times.

Special Emergency Request!
VEAP – Give with thanksgiving…
Isaiah 58:10
and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday.
VEAP is experiencing an unprecedented need for pantry items due to ongoing inflationary pressures, the government shutdown and the anticipated loss of funding for SNAP benefits. VEAP provides a critical service, serving over 250,000 people and distributing almost 5 million pounds of food each year. VEAP is requesting non-perishable, unexpired items and/or monetary donations. Every dollar donated and every pound of food counts!
Through the month of November, St. Luke’s will be collecting non-perishable food items. Monetary donations may also be made along with your offering – just designate the funds to VEAP. If you work for or are retired from a company that offers to match employee donations to 501c3 organizations, we encourage you to make a donation now. A donation of $30 will feed an individual 3 meals a day for 30 days.
And at the Thanksgiving Eve Worship, Wednesday, November 26 at 7 PM, it is our hope that we can fill the chancel with a special food offering.

Community Life invites you to join us for
Family Game Night

You can bring a game you would like to play. It may be a board game, cards, dominoes, Battleship, etc. Either people will play your game, or you’ll play theirs!

Missions Fundraiser
Thanksgiving and Christmas cards are now available for purchase in the Narthex. Birthday, Sympathy and other cards are also available; new designs are added each month. Proceeds will go to fund Missions projects.
A $4.00 donation per card is suggested. There are payment envelopes available at the carousel. Payment can be made by cash, check or through Simply Giving, found at the bottom of each web page, "Give", please indicate it is for Missions.
This is a Missions ministry, therefore, if you need a card but cannot afford one, please take a card. Just fill out the payment envelope as to the number of cards taken, so that we can replenish our stock. No names are required.

- To our St. Luke’s family: With profound gratitude, we wish to thank you for your prayers and support for Gary and our family during Gary‘s unexpected and very difficult hospitalization and Masonic Home recovery. It was a long journey, but he was determined to survive. With the power of your prayers and God listening to all of them, Gary has done a full turnaround and was back in church for the first time since early July. It was such a blessing for both of us to be there together. And we thank you for all your welcoming love and support. It was so awesome. HEALING AND STRENGTH:
Praise God for the knowledge and guidance of doctors, specialists, and scientists all over the world as they continue researching cures to eradicate cancer and heal the afflicted!

- For Tim Casey for a successful DBS surgery on November 18th and battery implant on November 24th.
- For Tammy Fawver's friends, Julie and her husband. Julie has been placed on hospice this past week.
- For good news for Janet Lyson's sister, Sharon, as she will be having medical tests for a potential brain tumor.
- For Victoria Edwardson's daughter Sara McAtee for her headaches and neck issues.
- The Lord has been with me this past year and particularly this past month. There is healing in prayer. - Madeline Boyle
- For Mark Serstock who is having open heart surgery to replace a leaking heart valve.
- Laurie Blanchard's friend, Judy Menden, as she is on a long health journey.

- Janet & Roger Lyson’s friend Gloria, who had successful breast cancer surgery. She also had brain sugery for meningioma and is doing OK.
- Jane Nechville's sister-in-law, Jamie, who has a large tumor on her lung.
- Judy Sandeen's great grandson, Sully, and his mom and dad. He was born Monday, September 22, at 27 weeks weighing in at 1 pound, 13 ounces.
- Maddie Boyle who is having medical concerns.
- Dick Sandeen who has been moved to memory care.
- The Annunciation Community Church and School. Change is needed to create a more loving and caring society.
- Jim Dagen is at Ridges Hospital in Burnsville.
- Healing for Beth Angerhofer who is had wrist surgery on August 29.
- Aubrey Adams who has started infusion therapy.
- Judy Sandeen's cousin Denny and his wife Lisa. Denny had his leg amputated. He recently received his prothesis.
- Healing for Cole Ruhmann who grew up at St. Luke's. He was involved in a motorcycle accident and is continuing his recovery at home. Thank you for holding Cole and his family up in your thoughts and prayers.
- My Goddaughters' mom, Lynete Allen. She is 38 yrs old and is had a triple heart bypass surgery on July 25th. - Jackie Millee
- Jane Nechville's sister-in-law Jamie, who is undergoing neurological challenges again and may require another surgery.
- Gary Blanchard's brothers, Mike and Ken, who are enduring difficult health issues. -
- Margaret Dahl who moved to hospice.
- Max & Maggie Horn's brother-in-law Jerry who is in a nursing facility after some surgery as he ages to 90
- Jane Ekerberg’s friend Margaret Martin who had a stroke.

- For Britt Halaas's aunt, Cheryl Halaas-Greewaldt, as she undergoes treatment for breast cancer.
- Jakey Wakely's sister, Mary Olson, who will now be moving her care to Mayo as her cancer moved from stage 3 to 4 over the past year.
- Sue Newby's brother, Scott, whose cancer has returned and spread.
- Deb Krieg's sister, Laurie, as her cancer has returned.
- Janet and Roger Lyson's friend, Doris, who is had surgery for breast cancer on Monday, June 30th. And prayers for their daughter, Gena, who may also have cancer.
- Healing for Craig Brandt's friend, Katie O, She has completed four sessions of chemo for her breast cancer. (I shaved my head in support of her chemo hair loss!)
- Paul & Beth Angerhofer’s longtime friend Kathy who has been diagnosed with colon cancer and is receiving treatment in Arizona.
- Janet & Roger Lyson’s friend Sue, recently diagnosed with cancer. May God guide the doctors to use their skills to help her.

DAILY STRUGGLE:
Blessings to those who's infirmities challenge their day to day lives. Prayers for:
- Our nations mental health crisis.
- The poor and homeless.
- Those experiencing uncertainty in their lives.
- Prayers all who struggle with mental health issues.
- The lost, afflicted with drug abuse, and incarceration, may they know God's love.

WORK LIFE:
- Carolyn Olsen's friend, Maria,in help finding a job.
- Jane Ekerberg's nephew who is currently serving as Deacon, but the priest is retiring so he will have full responsibility of their small church.
- Ever-living God, strengthen and sustain Bishop-elect Curry, that with patience and understanding he may love and care for your people. Grant that together we may follow in the way of Jesus...
- For Tim Krieg as he continues his pastoral internship at Bethany Lutheran in Grantsburg and Trinity Lutheran in Falun (pronounced Fall).
FAMILIES:
Prayers for families, regardless of how they are formed. Bless:
- Grandparents raising their grandchildren. Give them strength and insight to the needs of these children.

MILITARY SERVICE:
Prayers for our deployed service men and women.
- We especially lift up friends and family of those who have committed suicide, especially the 22 military service members who do so each day. Acknowledge the pain that they felt and the pain they have left behind.
- For Cindy Dierschell's granddaughter who just went thru basic training. She is a US Army Soldier! She is now in schooling. It is very hard and the best thing is that she sends me a bible verse everyday. So proud of all of all of soldiers!
GOVERNMENT:
Prayers for:
- The security of the economics of our country that we may provide for all.
- Peace in heart, mind and soul for our leaders, our country and the world to come together in kindness, joyfulness, open mindedness and love, especially in Ukraine.
Ongoing prayers…
We pray to love and accept all people, give us understanding and compassion. Give us patience in times of trial for good outcomes.
Prayers for:
- All of us to remain servants of the Lord.
- People suffering physical illness, facing death, mental illness and need hope in their lives.
- The lost, weak, and arrogant, and all of us sinners to find and follow the wonderful gift we were given through Jesus.
THANKSGIVING:

The pathology from Steve Kovac's cancer surgery came back as cancer-free. Continued prayers that his healing might be complete.
- Jane Ekerberg's back is stable because of the prayers and my exercise regime!
- Prayers of thanksgiving for our wonderful congregation, for families and children to coming to St. Luke's in abundance and may all of the things we do (large and small) make the world a more loving and beautiful place.
