PROPOSED CHANGES TO CUMC LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE
The mission of the United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Every United Methodist congregation shares in this mission, but how they accomplish it differs. Different congregations require different structures that allow each church to grow and adapt while remaining true to the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ.
Last year, CUMC's Church Council tasked a subcommittee, led by Carla Lee, to explore potential changes to the current leadership structure. The committee worked with Charlottesville District consultant Jim Chandler to explore various leadership models. After much consideration and prayer, the committee presented a proposal to the Council and received their feedback and approval.
CUMC's leadership wants the congregation's feedback before any changes are made. Carla Lee and Pastor Amy will present the adaptive leadership model to the congregation in learnings/listening sessions.
