ADVENT WEEK 1
This is the first week of Advent, the season when we prepare for and anticipate the coming of Christ. This past Sunday (11/29) we lit the first purple candle on the Advent wreath, which symbolizes hope.
Spend some time this week thinking about what gives you hope. Take your hopes to God in prayer. Ask God to either bless your hopes or give you a hope worthy of God's blessing. If you are feeling hopeless at this time, ask God to help you experience the hope that comes with faith in Christ. For as the apostle Paul wrote, faith in Christ gives believers peace with God as we stand in God's grace. Our hope comes as we "confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God's glory." (Romans 5:2, NLT)
My prayer for you is that you are filled with the hope of Christ as we prepare for his arrival and his return.
~ Pastor Amy
"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God." (Romans 5:1-2, NIV)
