Dan Jordan: Time to Roll Away
"A great man never likes to be told he is great. Because his humility is a large part of what makes him...well, great.
In other words Dan Jordan is going to hate this post...
After 11 years. Mr Jordan is walking (well rolling) away from White Dog Brewing. The company he helped create with his college roommate. For no other reason than he just feels it's time. And we respect his decision. We can find another manager.
What we will never be able to replace is a mentor. A friend.
A business owner who consistently and genuinely worried far more about the lives and well being of his staff before his company's bottom line. A true leader. Who lives his life as an example of not how to be. But what you can be.
A man who would spend 10 hours on his day off helping an employee fix their car. Cause they couldn't afford a mechanic.
A man who would act naturally demure and incredulous when asked if he had somehow found a way to pay for an employees unexpected emergency bill.
He would act the very same when a couple of 100 dollar bills found their way in to the tip bucket before an employees vacation.
And those examples above are honestly just scratching the surface.
We promise you Dan Jordan is everything that we say he is.
And he never strayed far from his roots.He owned a brewery that made some of the finest beer in the city. But would pick up a case of Coors yellow cans on his way home. It's his favorite...and he was ours. And probably always will be. And we wish him nothing but the best.
