Winter's Cross Quarter and The Season of Candlemas
February 6

Halfway through each season, we come to its “cross-quarter,” an emotional moment when we turn away from the promise of new beginnings towards fulfillment. In winter, the cross-quarter happens at the beginning of February as Orion marches through the sky with his dogs. Variously known as Groundhog’s Day, Candlemas, and St. Brigid’s Day, the Winter’s Cross Quarter festivals celebrate sustaining the inner light as the days are growing longer through the remaining weeks of the season.

Mary Adams will share insights into the celestial picture behind this month’s festival season and how it can inform the year’s mood. As always, the program will include information about finding your way through the sky this season. A Zoom link will be sent to all registrants by the morning of the program. Registration is required at www.landtrust.org/events. Thanks to member support, there is no charge for this event!

Harwood Gold's Farm Style Sriracha Wins 2021 Good Food Award

Our Farm Style Sriracha won the 2021 Good Food Awards WHAT AN HONOR!! Thank you to the Good Food Foundation for such recognition and all our customers and Sriracha fans. We are so grateful!!

For a long time, certifications for responsible practices and awards for superior taste have remained distinct – one honors social and environmental responsibility, while the other celebrates craftsmanship and flavor. The Good Food Awards recognizes that truly good food – the kind that brings people together and builds strong, healthy communities – contains all of these ingredients.

Each January, the Good Food Foundation organizes an epic three-day Good Food Awards Weekend for the public and the trade to meet, celebrate, taste and buy from the nearly 200 Winners: the exceptional food crafters who top the charts in a Blind Tasting and meet the environmental and social responsibility standards of the Good Food Awards. Over 2,000 entries from all 50 states are submitted each year. While this year presents some unique challenges to our traditional format for tasting entrants and publicly honoring the winners, we remain as committed as ever to celebrating American makers in a virtual format.

Have a business or member success story? We want to hear it! Hitting a growth landmark, meeting a personal or financial business goal, being awarded industry certifications or recognition's… we want to share that accomplishment. Member Success is a new section in our Biz Blast where we will highlight stories of member businesses and employees. Submit your information for the newsletter on our website submission form.
