Live from Charlevoix Presents: Frank and Allie
April 27

Frank Lee and Allie Burbrink (Bryson City, NC) are a vocal-driven old time duo. Their April 2018 release, Roll On, Clouds, showcases their favorite songs from over two years of performing together. These pieces range from blues tradition (“Somebody On Your Bond,” “Roll and Tumble”) to bluegrass classics (“Standing on a Mountain,” “Cabin on a Hill”), yet remain rooted in the old time aesthetic. Frank’s nylon string fretless banjo is the dominant instrument, with guitar, slide guitar, and Allie’s banjo and harmonica adding to the musical texture.
Frank and Allie, core duo of longstanding string band The Freight Hoppers, have traveled extensively as touring musicians. Frank, a founding member of The Freight Hoppers, has impressed audiences all over the United States, Canada, and northern Europe with his signature clawhammer sound. Allie is a founding member of The Whipstitch Sallies, a band from Indiana that toured in the Midwest, North Carolina, Colorado, and Hawaii. Together, the pair is a powerhouse duo with appearances planned across the country and in France.

Tim Bruce, founder of Northern Michigan Benefits and current President of the Northern Michigan Association of Health Underwriters will be joining the Health & Wellness Team at KorthaseFlinn. 4Front's Lending Experience Named "Best of the Best"
Credit union honored as offering one of 2018’s top loan processes
MemberXP, a member experience measurement platform for high-performing credit unions, has designated 4Front Credit Union as one of 2019’s “best of the best” credit unions.
The recognition is earned by consistently providing exceptional levels of service throughout the year. Less than one in five of the leading credit unions that utilize MemberXP’s service evaluation platform receive the award, which is independently granted by MemberXP based on specific criteria including member service and ease of use. In this circumstance, 4Front received elevated ratings for the ease and convenience of its lending process. The institution also scored exceedingly high when survey recipients were asked how likely they were to recommend 4Front to others.

MemberXP serves approximately 100 of North America’s high-performing, member-focused credit unions and allows credit union members to provide immediate feedback on the services they receive. MemberXP uses independently administered surveys to gauge the overall member experience across multiple channels and service opportunities such as getting a loan or opening a new account.

“Obtaining financing can be an overwhelming experience filled with uncertainty and stress,” said 4Front Credit Union CEO, David Leusink. “At 4Front, we take great pride in simplifying the process so our members can focus on the exhilaration of driving their new car or the delight of walking into their dream home. We are committed to providing a borrowing experience that is as outstanding as the loan itself.” 4frontcu.com
Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital honored as Hometown Health Hero by Michigan Public Health Week Partnership
Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital may be small, but that’s not stopping them from making a positive impact on the health of nearly 3,200 students annually. In 2011, the hospital began its school nurse program in response to an increase in preventable pediatric cases being seen in the emergency department during school hours. The program places registered nurses in nine school systems and serves students ages 4-18. Many of these students did not have access to healthcare as school nurses had been eliminated from all area school budgets. Soon after the program began, school nurses were able to keep students in school learning, instead of sending them home; decreasing chronic student absenteeism by 32 percent. In addition, nurses provide safety education for any procedures performed by nonmedical school staff including tube feeding administration, urinary catheterization, insulin pumps and even anticonvulsants administration. munsonhealthcare.org
