Zephyr- A whirlwind of Circus by Cirque Mechanics
March 1st
Throwing all caution to the wind, the adrenaline-driven daredevils of Cirque Mechanics are back with an all-new mechanical masterpiece: a 20-foot-tall windmill powered by sheer strength!
Set on a rotating turntable, there's practically nothing in Zephyr that won't spin - as acrobats brazenly balance atop the windmill's blades and fearlessly face the Wheel of Destiny. A turbine tug of war between man, nature and machine, Zephyr is a circus that'll blow you away.

Perry Release Party at Folklor
March 2nd
Join us for a release party for our 2023 Perry!
We're excited for a juicy taste of summer in the depths of winter. In '23 some of our trees yielded fruit for the first time in 3 years, adding a couple new pear varieties to the mix and a depth of flavor.
The fruit for this cider comes from 50-year-old trees that have been left to their own devices and un-sprayed for the past decade. 80 cases produced.
Join us at the farm for a Perry Release Party on Saturday, March 2 from 12:00 - 5:00. Chef Michelle O'Daniels of Sense of Place TC will be grilling up a delicious pairing of chicken or veggie satay with a winter veggie slaw. See you there!
March is Cider Month at Folklor! In addition to releasing our new Perry, we'll be offering case discounts on our While Away and 15% off bottles of Golden Hour cider.

Pet of The Week- Nova!
Howdy everyone, the name is Nova!
I ended up at the shelter due to my high energy. My last owners had young children, and I got way too excited around them. I need someone who can give me a lot of exercise, and play fetch with me until I say they can stop!
Luckily I'm housebroken, and I keep my kennel really clean. I can show you how smart I am and all the tricks that I've learned. I am particular with what dogs I like. Even though I am energetic, I also love people and giving big slobbery kisses.
I'm such a sweet and spunky girl who just needs the right people to come around to give me a loving home.

Funds Needed for New Playground at Mt. McSauba!
Through a Community Needs Assessment process, the City of Charlevoix identified the need for a modern playground facility at the Mt. McSauba Recreational Area and incorporated this need in its community master plan.
Unfortunately, funding for this substantial project has not been available. With the approval of the Charlevoix City Council, the Rotary Club of Charlevoix is partnering with the City of Charlevoix through the Recreation Department to orchestrate the funding and community build of a full playground at the Mt. McSauba Recreational Area.
This playground will be uniquely designed for the wooded environment where it will reside and will be utilized by hundreds of children and families who recreate at Mt. McSauba each year. The desired playground equipment will be from Penchura, a Michigan company. Doug Smith, a sales representative from Penchura as well as a Charlevoix resident, is helping the Rotary Club of Charlevoix choose the right equipment for the area. Designed with a keen focus on promoting physical activity, imaginative play, and inclusivity, the Mt. McSauba Playground boasts a vibrant and engaging environment that seamlessly blends with the scenic surroundings.
The expected cost for the new playground is approximately $250,000. With the help from gifts from foundations, businesses and residents the Rotary Club of Charlevoix is hopeful to make this playground a reality by next summer.
To donate, please visit rotaryclubofcharlevoix.org/donations. Your donation will be tax deductible.

Charlevoix Urgent Care Transitions to Walk-in Clinic
Providing more affordable, convenient options for Charlevoix and surrounding communities
Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital announced the transition of the Charlevoix Urgent Care to a new Walk-In Clinic as part of the Regional Care Transformation Plan to provide more patient-centric care.
On March 1, the Charlevoix Urgent Care will discontinue services in the Charlevoix Emergency Department and will begin the transition to the new Walk-in Clinic that will open on April 1, 2024. The Walk-in Clinic will be conveniently located at 14705 W. Upright St., Building D in Charlevoix. The Charlevoix Emergency Department will continue to offer 24/7 care every day of the year.
The new Charlevoix Walk-in Clinic will prioritize walk-in availability and same-day call-ahead appointments, ensuring timely access to care for patients. Additionally, the Walk-in Clinic will offer more affordable options for the community, with a patient’s insurance billed as a specialist visit to support cost-effective healthcare delivery.
“We are excited to offer this standalone walk-in clinic separate from the emergency department. In the existing Urgent Care framework, the level of patient care can unexpectedly shift from urgent to emergency services based on clinical criteria. This has resulted in increased expenses for our valued patients," stated Joanne Schroeder, President of MHC Charlevoix Hospital. "Acknowledging this concern, we are pleased to announce that our new Walk-in Clinic model will effectively tackle this issue."
Patients can expect the same level of care provided by the current urgent care, including point-of-care lab testing and necessary imaging services, which will be conveniently accessible at Charlevoix Hospital, located just across the street.
During the transition period from March 1 to March 31, community members are encouraged to utilize existing alternative healthcare resources, including:
· Charlevoix Emergency Department for emergencies.
· Munson Healthcare’s Ask-A-Nurse Line, 231-935-0951. This is a free service connecting the community to a registered nurse to talk about any symptoms or concerns. It is available 24/7.
· Munson Virtual Urgent Care | Daily; 7 am – 7 pm | MunsonHealthcare.org/VirtualUrgentCare
· Primary Care Provider | Don’t have one? MHC Charlevoix Primary Care is accepting new patients, call 231-547-6554, or visit MunsonHealthcare.org/Find-A-Doctor.
