Q-Tips

A Message from Head of School, Dan Quesnel

QT.jpg

Dear Oakwood Community,

I hope this email finds you doing well and enjoying the 2024 year thus far. Today’s Q-tips will be slightly different than normal as I announce with bittersweet emotions the upcoming retirement of our Director of IT, Fred Austin, effective at the end of the school year. Fred has been an integral part of the Oakwood family since 2002, contributing significantly to the development of our technology program and the creation of our IT network. As he embarks on a well-deserved retirement from Oakwood, we express our heartfelt gratitude for his tireless commitment over the past 21 years. We look forward to celebrating his legacy together as the academic year concludes.

In light of our school's growth and evolving technological needs, we are thrilled to announce the appointment of Max Crotts as our new and first full-time Director of IT, effective yesterday, January 2, 2024. Max, an experienced IT specialist with over 20 years of expertise, will be working closely with Fred, who will stay on to consult with Max as needed during this transitional period. Fun fact: Max is not only a seasoned IT professional but also an avid disc golf player who helped design Oakwood's disc golf course several years ago! I encourage you to extend a warm Oakwood welcome when you see him around and a thank you to Fred for his many years of service.

Go Eagles!
