Vestry Elections were held on January 8, 2017. The 2019 Vestry Members are: Michael Black, Marvin Dickey, Phyllis Holland and Leigh Long.
We would also like to thank our outgoing Vestry members: Len Carter, Sheri Gravett, Bill Querin, Mike Tanner and Bill Tucker for their years of service on the Vestry.

New confirmation class
will be held Wednesday evenings Jan 25, Feb 1 and Feb 8 from 7-8:30 at the rectory. We'll have dessert-and free child care will be provided in the Gabard building. We'll cover our confirmation booklet, The New Life of Grace as we prepare for confirmation with Bishop Benhase at the 10:00 service on Feb 12. All those interested, please email Father Dave.

Children's Choir Practice

The Children's Choir (PreK 3s - 5th Grade) will perform on Sunday February 12 during the 10am service. Karen May will begin practice January 8 - February 5 during the first 15 minutes of Sunday School.

The Children's Ministry will be planning some upcoming play dates. The first one will be January 28th. More information to follow.
Children's Ministry Valentine's Party - All Children PreK 3 - 5th Grade are invited to attend our Valentines Party on February 11th from 10 - 12:00. We will decorate cookies, do a fun valentines art project and practice singing for the Children's Choir performance on February 12th.

EYC Middle - We will meet Wednesday 1/18 at 6:30 in the parish hall for dinner and then go to Gabard. We will end at the same time (8:15pm) as we usually do.
EYC High School - We will meet this Sunday 1/15 at 6:30pm in the Gabard building. On 1/29 we will meet at 6pm at Paul and Molly Stevenson for an high school party.
Both middle and high school students and their friends are invited to a Super Bowl party at the Ryan's on 2/5.

ECF - Episcopal College Fellowship

Episcopal College Fellowship - We will meet for Bible study on 1/19 at 8pm. The diocese is having a college retreat from March 31-April 2 at Honeycreek. More details to follow.

The Stitchers of Love will be meeting Sunday, Janaury 15, 2017 from 4 - 6 p.m. in the Parish Hall.
Bring your completed items on Sunday, January 22nd. Father Dave will be blessing items then.
Since we did not meet the 1st of January, we will be meeting on January 29th to begin work on Bunny Creations. No knitting or crocheting needed, so come and bring a non-stitching friend. All are welcome.

Parking Lot Plans Approved
|
|
The City of Valdosta has approved the designs of the rear parking lot at Christ Church. The next step: the vestry will be obtaining bids for the implementation of the parking lot plans.
The approved plans are on display in the Parish Hall.

Feb. 23rd DR Dinner & Auction
|
| Let's Party! The Dominican Night Dinner and Auction to raise funds for the 2017 mission "Go Team" projects and scholarships for the DR children is scheduled for February 23 at the Cotton Corner, 101 N. Ashley Street, Valdosta at 6 p.m. This year's theme is Mardi Gras. Tickets at $25 are available at the 11:00 coffee hour in the Parish Hall or in the church office. If you have treasures you want to donate for the auction, please call or email Phyllis Holland or Julia Ariail. |

Help Us Build a House for Leidy
|
| $1 will buy a concrete block for the house the mission team will build for Leidy and her son Emanuel in El Pedregal in June. A cardboard house is set up in the Parish Hall with a donations jar. Please contribute coins, checks, bills - small or large amounts. It all adds up. Each week, we will count the money, then the children in the Christ Church Preschool will apply the colorful "blocks" during the week. Our goal is $2,500. Watch the house to see the progress as we move toward that goal. |
